MINI even showing up at work

I recently had a meeting with some folks from a financial management firm based in New Mexico. Their representative was discussing some stock holdings in their flagship fund and mentioned BMW and began to chuckle. I inquire about his laughter and he tries to move past it but I stay with it. He begins by saying the two main partners of his firm have really gone crazy and each purchased MINI coopers and have begun to do some serious modifications, racing etc.

Both of these men are in their 60's and sounds like they are having a lot of fun out west.

I mentioned my new cooper and the rally taking place this weekend. He was shocked!

We had a Rep come in for a meeting last week. Her clearly announced:

"The first order of business . . .
Who owns the MINI outside?"

We talked about MINIs for the first 10 minutes.

Most of the time when I meet new clients, my MINI gets discussed. I've had clients who drove Minis "back then." It's a great ice-breaker.

I had something simmilar happen. I was going to the school administration building to get info on when to register KidDiff1 for kindergarden this fall. The lady complemented me on MIB and then proceeded to mention that she and her hubby have a 2005 MCS.....

We talked MINI longer than we talked about KidDiff1's kindergarden!

Don't underestimate the kid connection... DreadPirateKid wants a MINI in the family because a couple of cool kids's parents drive MINIs.

We don't need no stinking Porsches (not that there is anything wrong with them!)
