Whats really funny is that since it usually its like four feet in front of me in the driveway, I really never see it on the road (how could I?).

The other day I had to park it up the street cause I was getting some tree work done near the driveway. I came down the street later, saw that little thing and for ONE second thought:

"What is that little red car there, its so tiny and cute!" and it dawned on me I was looking at my own car from a distance!!! Duh

I mean really, how often do you get a chance to see your own car at a distance by itself (not a parking lot)?

My wife keeps wanting to call my MINI "cute." I've threatened to get a vanity plate: NOT CUTE.

A couple weeks ago my son and I had to go somewhere and drive two separate cars. I let him drive my MINI. Based on that, I know what you mean. Sure I am extremely biased, but I couldn't help seeing my MINI in a sea of other cars in traffic and thinking "that is the hottest car on the road".

Hey C4, I sent you a PM but I'm not sure it went thru--it was sent way too fast and that makes me suspicious. Anyway, can you mail me some of your MA business cards? I like to recommend good people to buy from!

I look at is as there are 2 types of owners. The enthusiast will wave, flash lights etc. The non-enthusiast won't. Don't get ben out of shape. Enjoy your car and be happy.

I've had my MINI for 1 1/2 months and NO ONE has waved! And I live in the South where people are suppose to be nice and friendly . I wave or honk and my daughter's embarassed (there's more than one reason to acknowledge ongoing MINI's LOL ). If I don't wave or honk than it's becuase I didn't see you or changing gears or for some reason couldn't get my hand doing it's job in time.

GACK! No one has waved!??

I've had my pepper white gal since January and get about 50/50. Usually anyone over 25 will wave, but college students tooling around them usually snub me. Blech ...too bad they do not yet understand the joys of the da' club. They'll learn...or they'll trade their MINI for a Camry when they lose interest.

If I see you, I'm gonna be waving or winking!! Everytime I have one of these exchanges it boosts my mood by at least 75%...maybe even 81.5%!!

I think some of the new owners just don't know...they've bought their cars from CarMax or off some used car lot...but surely after 25 or so MINIs wave, they'll get the idea...or not.

REAL MINIS WINK AND WAVE!

We should all just wave at every MINI and Mini we see and, if they wave back, Woo-Woo, and go down the road all smiles. If they don't wave, that is their loss. I have exceeded my allowance printing out DCMM cards to pass out to MINI owners and everyone says it is a great idea to get together someplace for a soda and burger but no one joins up. From now on, I am getting their information if I talk to them and then I can call them. I agree that the people that buy from a used car dealer don't have a clue about telling the new owners about the large number of clubs and support for the new MINI. And original Minis too. I keep passing 2 old girls driving around in one of the new checker MINIs. I haven't been able to get their attention yet. I once parked next to the box the MINI comes in, those UGLY Scion Xbs, and kidded the lady about it being the box the MINI came in. She laughed and we had a nice conversation. She liked the MINI, but decided on the Xb.

Don't get discouraged - keep giving the 'Thumbs Up' signal and a light flash.

Motor On - Safely.

If you see someone that has no decals, they are either brand new owners and, if we are able, we should introduce them to the klub. I have a bunch of stickers from various MINI places and suppliers, but not nearly as many as Jen of DCMM. You can't see her left rear window.

I got my MINI in late January, and I've only had a handfull of people wave at me. Most MINIs I drive by don't even seem to notice, like I might as well be driving a Honda Civic.

I wave every chance I get though... yesterday I even waved out of habbit while I was riding my bike! She just gave me a confused look though.

Which do you prefer?
A Honk? Wave? Flash? Thumbs Up? or a Combination?
Maybe NAM members should have a secret combination of signals

I think it would be great if every MINI owner handed me a $50 bill when they passed. But that's just me.

That would be cool. Driving down the road and get a signal from another NAM member; it'd be like a drive-by secret handshake.

I have had my MINI for 2 days and only seen 2 others. One lady was at the light coming out of a Wal*Mart in a CR/W. We were accelerating from a light, my partner yelled "MINI!" And I threw my hand out the window and we were gone, but I did see her wave back!

Yesterday on the way home from work, I saw a PS/B and sadly she didn't wave.

50/50. Not too bad so far!
