and hopefully some new graphics in a couple of weeks!!
After signing the papers, waiting for it to get detailed, going thru the in's and out's with my salesman, I finally got to hit the road. It's about a 2hr drive home for me. The first thing I noticed was as I was going to the on ramp to the expressway was how well the car hugged the road, midway thru the curve I caught a glimpse of my odometer and saw I was going 70 and was shocked. (it felt like 30) .
My first hour was a little intimadating, I haven't driven a shift in about 10 years, trying to figure out the Nav system, the Ipod and stereo controls, where the fuel guage was, (of course with my lack of patience, I had to do all this on the drive home)then my clients were calling on the phone, now I had to shift and talk on the phone.:impatient Finally , the second hour I started to settle into grove and enjoy the car.
Today was just pure fun
I was weaving, passing, shifting and motoring like a little kid.
I just ran out and took a couple of quick pictures and put them on Flickr for you all to see!

Hiya Snooter! I will have to second your reaction to the new Mini! I am constantly looking at my speed as the car seems to really float on the road. In my truck, I have a pretty good sense of how fast we are going, but that sense is yet to develop with the Mini! The other cool thing is that sensation you mentioned of connection to the road. It feels as though Red Erik is literally glued to the road! Very cool!
