Space Blue, where are you?

Since all the other colors are making their own threads maybe it's time for Space Blue. From reading other threads it looks like Space Blue is growing quite popular, especially with the Silver roof. The MINIUSA site make space blue look rather greenish-blue, but in real life I think it is less green. Mine is on order and I have only seen one SB in the flesh. So, everyone should post their pictures. No hood stripes/V for me on my MC. Did anyone get SB with the SB roof instead of silver?

I got silver but a guy in the island did get a Works without the silver and it looked good, very dark. The silver brightens it up a little bit.

Where you . . . Baalue?

I'm right here . . . . waiting. The ship carrying my little bluzeke is due in NYC tomorrow. I'm hoping to be rolling in about 10 days. I've seen quite a few Space Blue's at my dealer by now and I'm still happy with my choice. I find the color to be a bit understated, rather like the greys, and I agree, the silver top puts just the right zing to it. Nice to know I've got a color combo and bonnet stripe that is only offered for one model year too!

Downside? . . . looks like a color that will like to see lots of washing.

Pictures SOON! :impatient

I got the 06 SB/S - awesome, but as you said, lots of washing!! Really gives the car a 'classy' look - less of a 'cute color' You will love it!!

It does have some green in it in the right light. Picked mine up Nov 5.

Check out my gallery. Overall I am happy with SB/S, but if anything it is a bit conservative, and almost shows dirt to the same extent that black cars do. It looks almost black in the evening and at night (somewhat similar to astro black), and has a distinct, mature dark blue hue in sunlight. I have never really noticed much green in it.

Overall I am not super happy with Mini's current pallette, and would prefer some lighter, non-metallic COLORS (IMO shades of grey, silver, and brown are not really colors)...

I got one without the silver. I personally thought the silver looked more like a matte finish than the shiny metallic and wasn't really grabbed by the way it matched up, plus I wanted the more understated look. I'll let the performance of full JCW do my talking .

I have noticed that in the right light it has a purple hue. I noticed this in the headlights of a Xenon Bimmer when I was in for service one day, as well as in the sunlight just yesterday. One angle it looked like a brighter blue and almost 180 off it had a purple color.

Pictures are not really good at catching the metallic paints I think. Maybe once I have time to get the car clean and it stays clean (after the salt is rinsed off the roads) I'll try to get some different anlges showing the color differences.

We traded in the 2003 DS/B MCS, which we thought was a great color combination for a 2006 SB/S MCS and we are just as happy. Having the silver roof makes it still a little bit more unique since there are not many out there.

I'm a big fan of SB/S. Unfortunately in Canada you can't get it on an S unless you're also opting for the Checkmate package, for some bizarre reason... (which I didn't want, since I wasn't a fan of the interior).

So I settled for my second choice, DS/B -- which I'm generally very happy with, except when I see photos of SB/S!

Love my color choice so far. Color changes in sun at different angles, has a purpleish tint from side angle. Unfortunately my car was in a small accident and it is at he autobody shop. Hope they can match up the door color with the rest of the car.

Picked mine up 5 Nov also. See my signature and gallery.

There really isn't much green, it is just a really nice dark blue

See my gallery. Wouldn't change a thing (except if I had an extra $6K I would have gone with a JCW).

A little over 6'10". A guy at work is 7'3" or so, I'd really like to get a pic of both of us with the car between us.

here's an unfortunately dark picture of space blue without a silver roof. I think the wheels take it from being cute to just a bit sinister...

I love that pic. I'm around 6'7 also. We should start a club for MINI owners over 6'5. Think that would be a pretty exclusive club?
