Stupid Branch!

Well, It finally happened. I have officially joined those of you who have had the unfortunate luck to see your babies horribly defaced by some tragic accident. As I was driving myself and a friend to a movie last night a decent size branch fell from a tree directly in front of my Kathy. While I do count myself extremely fortunate that it did not land ON the car, I didn't realize what was going on until after I had run over it and in searching my rearview to see what it was that I had just hit (i never actually saw it fall, just saw the water on the road splash a bit in the beam of my headlights) I discovered what looked like a harmless branch, noisy going underneath but nothing more. Well, tonight when coming home from dinner I noticed a really strange beam pattern coming from my foglights on the garage door. On closer inspection I found a small chunk of plastic missing on the edge of the driver's foglight hole and underneath, the dreaded broken foglight mount . Apparently the branch managed to rear into the foglight hole punch the light back without breaking the lens, then slip under the car without even scratching anything on the way down. Almost a year old she had never seen anything more than grime and road salt. I guess it couldn't last forever.

Ouch!!!! So sorry to hear this...I'm sure you're totally gutted. I survived the evening of my last "mishap" on banana pudding a friend had made.

Oh well, now it's time to tackle the job getting repairs done. One day you'll look back on this and it won't be to tramatic, but I'm sure it is at the moment.

So sorry to hear this. I am always on the look for fallen tree branches and dried palm leaves which are becoming a problem in the streets of Miami. Palms don't belong in public roads!

Thanks for the sympathy queen. Any chance you know what Chad charges per hour for repair labor? I haven't looked into it all yet but im not sure I have it in me to replace that big plastic piece myself and I really don't wanna deal with motor city's labor charges.
