Very cool cop-cars...If I were a cop (which I'd never want to be), I'd like to drive one of those, like the one from Pittsburgh, for example, is pretty cool.

I still like the German light much better. Although somewhat chunky, they are more aerodynamic.

No doubt they tinkered with the engine anyway...

Thanks for the correction. I emailed the picture to my brother, who lived in Munich for three years. He said exactly the same thing you did, and even said it looked like it was parked in front of the Munich Police Station.

I was basing my thought about the emblem from the Munich Police patch that I got while visiting in 2001. I had forgotten that the blue/white crest was the emblem for Bavaria.

MCs and Harleys. Wow, guess no one in the Pittsburgh Police thinks you may need to chase anyone (with the goal being to actually catch them). Pittsburgh must have a high rate of criminals getting away.

Is this a step down from an MC? (with some options) In Europe, I think they call them "One" and "One D" for (diesel). From what I remember, they dont get the chrome, cdplayer, etc.and are more commute cars.

Has anyone seen the picture of the Allegheny, PA Sheriff's Office MINI on the last page of the first issue of MC2? Sweet...all dressed out: light bars and decals.... There is another thread pondering the question if MINIs are cop attractors...I think it would be fair to say the debate has been settled. Mick

It's the Allegheny County Sheriff. In PA Sheriff's are in charge of the courts, transporting of prisoners, and serving warrants, they don't do very much crime prevention and certainly not traffic duty.

We have a security group in Atlanta called Midtown Blue which patrols the Midtown neighborhood in blue MINIs. I can't find a picture of them online except for a tiny one on this page http://www.midtownalliance.org/MB_overview.html
