I'm paying MFSP. Even though I could't ague a better deal like I had wanted to, I thought I would have to argue for the price I was quoted for on the net. I just wish the MINI dealership I went to told me that I wouldn't have to discuss price until it was delivered and that I could get my $500 down even if the Car was deliverd.

Did they act like your $500 was non refundable if you ordered the car and then didn't want it in the end?

Bought a PS/B MC, all packages + chrome bumper inserts, paid MRSP + $120 or something close to that in dealer costs (Rasmussen MINI in Portland, OR), which included the floormats of my choice (got rubber ones). Ordered in Nov '02., took delivery in Feb. w/ the following added at the dealership: Remus exhaust, driver's side parcel shelf, drop-in air filter, map light, and Alta shorty antenna. Have since added a Hot Pocket, a glove box organizer, a boot mat, arm rest w/ storage, aero grills on stock front end, S style pedals, and the all-important MINI coffee mug, which FITS!!

Last week I wrote a check to MINI of Hawaii for $19.3K. That's MSRP for an MC with sport package, metallic paint, and leather steering wheel....plus the $500 deposit.

Upon delivary, spent over $1K on MINI parts and accessories: chrome mirrors, clear tails and side repeater, arm rest, floor mats, stubby ant., euro plate, and a bunch of MINI apparel and stuff.

My MA was kind enough to get 10-20% off on all my purchase.....since we couldn't "haggle" on the MINI.

Of course, the total price is gonna skyrocket once we start modding for auto-X
