I leave on Sunday to pick up the new MCS first thing on Monday morning. After that I have a glorious 8 hour drive home. I'm looking for a few new CD's that will really benefit from the HK system. Here are a few that I'm thinking about getting, but if anyone has better suggestions please let me know and I may just load up the CD changer and MOTOR non-stop.

Coldplay
Snoop DOGG
Red Hot Chili Peppers (gotta have this)
Disturbed

Thanks-

The new Red Hot Chili Peppers CD is great! The new Snoop Dogg song 'beautiful' is cool too, haven't heard the rest of the cd.

good choices - i'll do them all except the Who - for some reason I've never been a big fan. I'll throw in a couple tunes by the Doors to round out the set. Thanks -

VM - righteous selection (the Who & Led Zep alone would kick booty) - of course you can never go wrong with any Chili Peppers selection.

MC VR/W, chrome, 3 pkgs, xenon, HK, sunroof, leather, big smile
Ebbey is booked on the Libra Leader out of Southhampton on 2-18-03. He's scheduled to arrive in Port Hueneme, CA on 3-10-03. Final Destination: Colorado

I had to play Pearl Jam's MFC. Now I listen to Norah Jones, Nick Drake...even Rod Stewart's American Songbook (Coldplay...nice) just to keep my adrenaline levels lower. Occasionally I don't even try, though.

Good luck and enjoy the ride home, Mini-Matt...my listening pleasures lately have been:
Our Lady Peace / Gravity
Disturbed / The Sickness
Disturbed / Believe
Hoobastank
Staind / Break the Cycle
P.O.D. / Satellite
Live / Throwing Copper
Live / Secret Samadhi
Live / The Distance to Here
anything Foo Fighters
and of course,
anything Chili Peppers.

Have fun!

Like The Doors and Led Z, but how about Yes (Fragile, Close to the Edge, ), Pink Floyd, Dave Matthews and Enigma (1st album).

My very best CD's dont play in old fashioned CD players, as they are SACD's (Super Audio Compact Disc). The second best ones are DVD-A's (DVD Audio) and they don't play in obsolete players either.

But, I would say that a regular recording of Glen Gould playing the Goldberg Variations is fabulous for motoring. For more modern stuff, try some Belle and Sebastian or Ben Folds.

Can't go wrong with a little Dead Milkmen, De La Soul, or Stevie Wonder......

Craig -Great Choices I like the entire set.

vm - I think the option was $550.00 - My "old" Maxima hit 140,000 miles this week and I've been without a radio for almost a year now due to some weird electrical issue. I decided it was time to live a little

The title of your post gives me an idea. Maybe you should consider an album that will really challenge the new system, so you know how far you can push it? You know how there's always that one cd that just doen't sound good in your stereo? Usually it's something bass-y or electronic, like the newest Flaming Lips album or Folk Implossion are great ones that come to mind for me. It'd be interesting to see how they hold up in the brand new system and then you'd know your limits.

Got to track down a copy of 'Perfect Motion' by Sunscreem. I'd recommend the Jimmy Gomez remix but the Sunday club DMC remix is easier to find. The JG remix sounds like it was mixed for listening in a car, bass line flipped channels left to right offbeat. I swear it is as if there is a front back channel split in there (I know that isn't possible on CDs).

Looking at your choices tho' I'd say that you are a more mainstream music fan. In that case get online and find a downloadable copy of the Brothers in Rhythm remix of the Eurythmics 'Here comes the rain again'. Superb remix, a virtually seperate track to the orginal. Was a white label release 10 year ago so you'll have to burn your own CD, well worth the effort of finding it tho.

well things have changed a bit and I can't leave today to pick up the car tomorrow I'll be leaving late on Thursday for a Friday pick-up, but this will give me some time to mix some great tunes.

I do want stuff that is really going to test the limits of the HK system more than just some personal favs. I will check out the Flaming Lips, Sunscreem and Stereo Fuse - I have Folk Implosion and it's already in the CD case -
