R50/53 Your favorite cruzing tune? (for now)
anything chili peppers for me. there funky stuff is good for when i feel like taking my car a bit harder, and there slower mellower songs are good for time i feel like just cruising down the beach in 6th with the windows open and breeze on my face
plus i mean red hot chili peppers in a (hot) chili (pepper) red mini S? its like a perfect match

only one song gets played in my motor atm....Summer Time - Will Smith i know its 90's cheesy but it IS summer time atm and it was voted by Kiss100 (Londons biggest radio station) and all its listners as the all time favourite summer song!
I've been diggin' on the Cars soundtrack...I'm no fan of Sheryl Crow but "Real Gone" is great to drive to, as are the respective covers of "Life is a Highway" and "Route 66" by Rascal Flatts and John Mayer.
Here is a little vid from in my Mini with a tune playing.

NemoTunes!
A few of my friends have been asking me what I listen to with the top down... so I started a PodCast that posts a new song each week or so. If you have iTunes you can click the 'subscribe' button and iTunes will download each new song. I mainly started it as a fun experiment when Apple released the new iWeb application. Feel free to go play, then roll your eyes! :impatient It's more for fun than anything else!
www.NemoMINI.com
click on "NemoTunes" at the top, then choose a song. You can listen from the website or from iTunes, either one. And you are correct... I DON'T have anything better to do with my time. Ha!!
Yeah... I listen to some weird stuff. But it makes me feel good!

"it is like a natural afrodisiac"
That is a good summer time driving song.
I have sooooooo many songs I love to drive to.
Killswitch Engage
Slipknot
Godsmack
Eric Clapton
Cold Play
RUSH
Red Hot Chili Pepers
Even the new Hasidic Raggae singer is cool
I just like way to much music to have just one or two driving songs.

Man, how many songs quoted here and not one by the Boss ?????
Maybe its a Jersey thing, but I have a MINI playlist with everything on it that Springsteen ever released....!
"I'm driving in my car.... turn on the radio.... I'm holding you close.... you just say no ...."
but the best Boss driving music ever - Thunder Road ..... Man, I was breaking the speed limit under the influence of that back in the 70s....
Also, with the top down I have been playing a LOT of Cheryl Crow lately, mainly -
Now, for the most obscure driving music of all time - anything by Brian Protheroe, especially
That is all.

Yoooooo!!! Jersezzzz Bill! Howz turnpike exit 9 doin? I am formally known as GSP exit 163... oh! how I miss it. Before moving out to MO I was 287 exit 17, but 287 just didn't have the same significance. Now we just plead with all people of the tri-state area to appreciate what they have, eat the pizza as if it was the last pizza on earth, and the wisdom to stay put in the best place on earth!
But since this is a music thread, I guess I should focus on the topic... my OLD time favorites... clapton, inxs, simple minds, billy idol, van halen... great memories of good tunes on my way to the beach! Favorite place on the beach to listen to live bands... Martell's Tiki Bar at Point Pleasant... my friend still plays there... Hungry Jack.. awsome music

You are right - the best exits are the NJ Tpke and the GS Parkway - you can really zero in on someone with those !!!
Man, Point Pleasant.... Nothing like the Jesey Shore for great music and ole time seaside fun. Belmar, Wildwood, Cape May, Sandy Hook (largest nude beach in America) - love em all !!!
New Jersey gets so maligned - and I think on purpose that we show our worst face to New York - all the chemical plants, warehouses, swamps, you name it - but there are places in Jersey that make you think you are in Europe or the Mediterranean or anywhere you want to be. Such a wonderful diverse State with just about everything - man, I am never leaving.... Now if we could only convince our new Governor to get serious about letting us pump our own gas - it is embarassing to be one of only two states where you can't do this.
Another proud NJ fact - home state of Zaino (wish you could mail order it here though !!!)
Missouri must be a nice place - but it is no New Jersey.... Fugeddeboudid ! Come on home !!!
Bill
Finn Brothers "Everyone is Here" was the first cd to pop in for the ride home from picking up Car84.
Last weekend I was in some wooded twisties when the Beatles' "Revolution Number Nine" came on. I've never listened to it completely (did this time), but it sure is good for the "zone" one gets in, for a road like say, the Dragon.
