I originally had my mind set on the "Alloy Patina" but when I saw the Anthracite in person, I changed my mind. I placed my order last month and went with the Anthracite.

What about the Alloy Patina? No one has mentioned it in this column. How come? I'm getting an MCS and am trying to decide between Anthracite and the Alloy Patina interior. Any opinions on the AP?

>>I've ordered the anthracite as well, but I have to admit I'm not fond of that tachometer trim in silver. It's entirely possible that when it arrives I'll be going to the hobby shop to find a matching paint...

Please post picks of this if you decide to do it. I am on a quest to elminate all chrome/silver from the CR/B MINI when I finaly get it.

I so envy those of you with Anthracite !!
I obtained a great deal on a car that was someone elses order.
It has Patina
After I am done making Mini "go-fast", I'm going to get some Anthracite too !!

I have the AP and I love it! I thought that the silver looked really tacky, and although I love the look of the anthracite, I wanted a light colored interior. Went with Lapis/Alloy/Magnesium (door panels) combo and the interior is great! The anthracite is really cool, but I don't think it would go well with the lapis/magnesium combination at all! It looks best with a dark interior, or, at the very least, shades of grey. Just my 2ç

I have the silver, but I think the anthracite is kewl. As far as silver on the instruments, try adding the chrome bits....BTW, any anthracite interiors with the chrome bits installed?

Hi guys....on the first page of this post, I wrote that I ordered antracite for my chili/blk and then ordered parts in silver (like the tach) for the speedo, 2 vents next to the speedo, cup holders and around the shifter. How do you think that will look? I thought the tach kind of stuck out too with everything else being dark, so I thought maybe just a little silver might be cool.

Dunno. I'd have to see pics to be sure, but I thought the standard silver trim around the gauges would contrast too much with the darker anthracite.

Might look nice when I see it for real tho.

Gotta agree with scooterboy, need to see pics before making final judgement.
Maybe just the silver on the speedo and the air vents (to match the tach), but leave the shifter and cupholders anthracite.
Either way, it's ALL good!

scooterboy and kohu'ula.....I agree....I'm just guessing at this point. I hope it will look good, but if not I have all the original parts! I'll take pictures.

I have to wait 6 months cause I don't have any money. I can't order anything till I pay off my credit cards over the summer then get a down payment saved up.

>>silver tach

It looks like the control stalks (lights, wipers...etc) and steering wheel trim are silver in the antracite interior as well?

MINI made me double my down payment ($2500-->$5000) the day I was going to take delivery !? No big deal--Luckily, I had the extra bucks! I just put off the kitchen remodeling!

True, but that didn't bother me as much for some reason. Even though the tach is also mounted on the steering column, I just think it would look better matching the other gauges than it does matching the stalks/steering wheel.
