R50/53 Royal Grey = Brown
Okay, let's keep this thread On Topic, please. You can show off your fancy-shmancy Pintos, etc., in the Off Topic :: Autos thread. If you have nothing more to say about RG, then adios.

I only posted my snapshot because I saw a post saying RG looks a different color under different lighting conditions. The mix of lights at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show are different than daylight.

Your pic is a much better example of what one would see out on the street.
Definitely brown elements to RG.
Look, I am a huge RG fan (just ordered one). That being said, I can freely admit that under very specific lighting conditions, it can look more brown than anything else.
But what I love about RG is that it can truly look like any number of colors throughout the day. During the last few minutes of dusk, it can almost look Astro Black, even. Sometimes it appears green. Other times, charcoal. I just love that complexity!

Hmmm... Exactly what we need here... A Ford Pinto lover!
Hey Alfa, that is one hot car

The color I like the least is Astro Black... not because of the color itself but because it's called black! To me it appears to be a really dark blue and the fact that its called Black bothers me! It's a nice color but definitely NOT black. The roof of my car is more black than Astro Black.
OK ... someone hit me with the Spinal Tap reference... it is inevitable

I saw Royal Grey at the dealer today. I'll call it dark greige. Not very mettalic, even under bright sun. Nice innoffensive color, though it is not one I'd buy (DS/B). I'm expecting to see some nice MINIs in this color tho..

happened to see a RG around the other day, did have brownish overtones to me. warm grey as they say, akin to the bimmer sterling grey

Yeah....sometimes I am a LITTLE regretful I didn't get DS instead of all Jet Black!
