Anyone been to Goodwood?

My dad and I are thinking of going to the Goodwood Revival (9/1-9/3). Has anyone been to it before, or the Goodwood Festival of Speed?

I'm hoping to get some tips on where to stay as well as the best grandstands, etc.

If you don't know about Goodwood, check out their website: www.goodwood.co.uk

Thanks!

Only on Speed Channel, but it's on the list (my name is Earl).

Might want to check out Monterrey Historics for '06 - featured marque is Cooper cars and featured race series is the Trans Am.

I went to the festival of speed in 2001. We took a train from London, it was as I remember about 2 hours each way. They have a bus service from the train station which was about a 10 minute ride. So we arrived in morning and returned at night via train to London. Definetly worth it and not difficult to go to.

I highly advise going, it's a blast and you get really close to alot of incredible machinery. There are also alot of vendors selling models etc.

Thanks for the info. My dad wants to go to the Goodwood Revival to see the cars on the racetrack instead of the driveway/hillclimb at the Festival of Speed. Since he offered to pay most of my way, I'm not complaining! Sounds like we'll have to find somewhere to stay that is at least closer than London since a 2-hour train ride is a bit much to endure if we go 2 (or maybe all 3) days of the event.
