R50/53 MINI Television Commercial
MINI Television Commercial
I couldn't believe it! While talking to my best friend, another MINI owner, I interrupted our phone conversation because of a commercial on the local ABC station.
It was a familiar Dark Silver bonnet with black stripes that caught my attention. Sure enough, it was a MINI Convertible! At first I thought it was a MINI-as-prop advertising something else, but, as it turned out, it was an actual MINI commercial (for the cabrio)!
The only other MINI commercial I've ever seen on TV was back in Chicago a month before I picked up my MC here in SoCal. That was just a bit over three years ago!
Has anyone else seen this?
I wonder if this was done by CPB or the new agency.

Haven't seen that one. The last MINI commercial I remember seeing was the "Counterfeit MINIs" one, which I caught several times in Sacramento. When was that? Almost a year ago?
The movie link highlighted #5. The one JC is talking about is #4, with the cabrio full of motorists stopping at a red light, hopping out and doing musical chairs until the light turns green. Saw it twice during the Orange Bowl last night.
I guess MINI's trying to get rid of their excess cabrio inventory?

There have been several of the Cabrio ads playing on TV here in Vegas. Desert MINI charges above MSRP, so they have a bunch sitting on the lot.

Yup... that is correct. The new ad agency is just getting in gear right now. To plan out a TV spot takes weeks and can sometimes take months.
This ad has actually been playing for sometime now.
