Dealer Keychains

Love 'em, hate 'em, whatever. Is it true that the dealer keychain that you get with your MINI is unique for each dealership? I got my MINI in Seattle, and we just visited the one in Houston (annual holiday trip to SO's family). When I asked if they had any keychains like the one NW MINI gave me, they had no idea what I was talking about and showed me the Houston's MINI dealership keychain which was different. I'll have pictures up later when I get home.

She gave the keychain to me for free, though. I'm thinking about starting a collection.

I would think a dealer inscribed keychain would be at their own discretion, so might be good, cheesy, or non-existent. I got one from MOTW in Houston that was actually pretty nice, a small metal tab with "Let's Motor" inscribed on one side and their dealer name and phone number on the other. Most dealer keychains I have received in the past were cheap plastic things.

Lauderdale's MINIs key chains are made of chrome/polished metal. Actually they are very nice and they are sized right. However, they tend to be on the heavy side and this is more evident when you replace them with a different type of keychain.

Is it round? Ours only have the dealer name and phone number on the back of the keychain (Polished chrome part)

This is how mine looks too, except that on the back the dealership name and phone number is engraved rather than the roadside assistance. Quite nice, actually.

Those look like our BMW ones. We used to have round ones but now they are square. I give two to each customer.

I got the cool little MINI logo with wings keychain when purchasing my car. Too bad the ring was too big for the key fob opening.......

The Momentum MINI one was round, circular, with their phone number and dealership name on the back with Let's Motor on the front. The NW MINI one looks like chows4us's, except on the back it had NW MINI, phone number, and address.

Sad, I've only seen two MINIs here in a week. Definitely going into MINI withdrawal. In Seattle, I saw at least three or four a day. It was definitely smile-inducing to see all those MINIs at the dealership, and a couple potential motorers.

I think I may start a little collection of keychains.

Now to figure out a way to MINI Center (San Antonio) and MINI of the Woodlands (outside of Houston a bit).

leased a cheepo 04 civic. (on the other hand, i was thinking i don't want
this thing, give me my first month lease for free )

OK, I managed to take a pic of my keychain. I quite like the design myself.

My wife and did a little asking around and got a few keyrings from some of the mini dealerships in the states and Canada. The one I got from Mini of Nashville is bottom row right hand corner.

Sterling used to give out cheap cheezy ones. Plain ring with a thong of really cheap leather which had a two sided square plastic thingy which had the MINI logo white on black on one side, and MINI of Sterling on the other.. This was back in 2002 and 2003. They really weren't much better than the plastic glow in the dark 1 shaped keychains that dealers used to give away (and some still do!).

I got nothing with my 2005 MCS from Towson... although they did flatbed it to my home for me at 9:30 at night, but that's another story.

Say what you want about Tate, but they have some of the best MINI keychains of the three DC dealers (or at least they used to). Just like wagnbat showed, pewter MINI wings with the MINI logo on one side and Tate MINI on the other.

FWIW, the one I received from Classic (in Mentor/Cleveland, OH) looks just like the one in the upper left.

Thank you MINI of Nashville for not giving out the heart-shaped ones or the ones shaped like a Camry steering wheel

Sounds like the one I got from Global Imports in Atlanta, GA. It has MINI wing logo and "Let's Motor" on one side, the dealership info on the other. When I bought my Nissan X-Terra, we got nothing except a hard time.
