hummm.....don't want to depress the 'community'...guess I'm seeking consolation...don't really know. I was layed off today. I've NEVER been layed off or fired. Budget issues...highest paid in the department were bye-byed! I'm still getting my MCS...swear to G_d!!!!!!!!!!!! Numb....pissed...really liked this position....Just thought I'd ventilate with y'all...............................
Hey scoobs I hear ya. Dont worry we all go through rough times. We are here for ya. things will turn up. Friday is Valentines day and Im single...six months now. It sucks. I was dating a girl for a couple weeks but it just didnt work out. Guess we all have our things to be depressed about.
Really sorry to hear about that Scoobs. Hope you find something else real soon.
Glad your are going ahead with the MINI. It will make you feel a whole lot better, and put the job thing in it's proper perspective. You will find something. In the meantime, enjoy yourself and your new MINI.

Yep. I'm right there with you. I got laid off on December 2. Ended up refinancing the house so I could get the payments on the car, the truck, the boat and the MINI in line with my wife's paycheck. Now I need to find a job so I can get all that paid off.
But WE GOT OUR MINI!!!!

That REALLY sucks scoobs! I hate to see anyone in my list come on hard-times. I just know you'll be offered something kick-*** soon, it's hard to keep great people from being noticed!

Hey Scoobs,
Like the others, I feel badly for you. I had a similar experience around 10 years ago. I hated losing my job, and did not enjoy having to find a different line of work. The new work did offer me some opportunities to meet some interesting people however. God never gives you anything that you can't handle...don't be depressed, ask for his help in getting you through tough times.

That definitely stinks! The first time it happens to you - you go thru SO many emotions. Happened to me about 3 years ago after 12 years with the same company.  You will find something better than what you were doing before
I just read this the other day. I know it's cliche', but I think it's so true:
"Doors always close in our lives. Sometimes we close them, and sometimes they are closed on us. But with each closing door, another opens. What's important is we don't stand staring at the closed door and miss the doors opening around us."
Good luck, friend.

I have a Masters in Social Work and was working as a Treatment Coordinator for adolescents in a residential facility, here in Louisville. Honestly, I'd love a whole new field!!!!!!! Thanks for asking.
