Hello everyone

Just a note for those waiting for delivery of a new MC or MCS...Check the paint finish carefully before taking delivery. My MC had some flaws in the paint. I did not notice them at first. One flaw looked as if someone botched a touch up at the factory. the flaws were repaired under warranty but meant two trips to the dealer for the repairs. Some flaws show up under indoor light and are not as noticable outdoors. I just feel that a new car should not require paint repairs1!! :???:

Even if our Minis are ugly, we still love to drive them.

I had some pretty intense swirling on my black top. The car was shipped across country so I had to take dealer's word for condition. I've corrected most of it, and if it ever bugs me I'll just get it painted some funky color anyway. HA!

My MINI is currently in production. Certainly don't like to hear stories like this one. Anyone else have a similar experience w/paint issues on their newly delivered MINI??? :???:

Mine has a single drip of clear-coat hanging like a little stalagtite from the bottom of the driver's door. Only noticeable when you are checking out the bottom of the driver's door

Paint should look good, but most importantly, it should protect the metal it is painted on. Nonethelss, afactory paint job should be close to perfect though, especially considering how super-cool the painting robots at the factory are!

I agree Yucca, and I forgot...I've got a little drip like you describe, but on my passenger door. No big deal. Overall I'm happy with the Darksilver paint. It's the black I'm not impressed with at all. I'm thinking about painting/vinyl it bright silver, to match the silver cloth interior and the rims...and it'd have "retro" look, ala the old silver topped S.

I dont really have a problem with the paint on my MC but on the roof of my white top theres seems to be a little dent. You can only see it under certain lighting conditions and when you look at an angle and I can't feel anything when I try to touch it but I can see it. My uncle said its just in the metal that they used when they built it, you can hardly see it so it doesnt really bother me.
