my first post. I want a new MINI so badly it hurts. I took a test drive two weeks ago and have been obsessed ever since. I've spent more time online reading about the new MINI than sleeping.(slight over exageration since if I'm sleeping I'm dreaming.) You all know what I mean.
Anyway,,,,,,, can anybody out there help me with information on child saftey at the rear seats? There's lots about the front crash tests and airbag deployment online but nothing about rear end crashes.
I love my 2 1/2 year old.
Can anyone help with some info? Thanks a lot.

I can't give you specifics but I'd say
it is a safe bet. There are many larger
vehicles I feel less safe in. The Minis
manueverabilty enables it to avoid situations
you might not escape in an SUV or minivan.
If you are a good driver that is really all
that matters. I don't think size does.
Welcome to MCOL and get the Mini!!

Check out the thread on Rear Impact Concerns. I have a more detailed post in that thread, but I can tell you right now that I would be very comfortable with carrying my nieces in the back seat of the MINI. Also keep in mind, that the MINI is one of the few (only?) cars in this price range that include rear seat curtain airbags.
