BTW... I am thinking about trading in my 325Ci.. not for MINI but for the E90 Wagon. Looks gorgeous, and the panorama roof

But that was never the plan anyway.

I adore the M Coupe, have never felt so elated after getting a car and being able to call that machine mine - I'd go look at it in my parking space in disbelief
Sadly though I am (once again) considering selling, he's just not being driven much since my move to the city and having such a luxury, an expensive and fantastic car as that sit in the garage when we could really use the funds is.. well we are trying to figure it out
Oh, and just fyi - I'm not a 'he'
Not to hijack the thread too much, but I'm really enamoured with the new Z4 coupe. I know the styling is controversial but I've always liked it and the cars do drive great, I've had several as loaners. With the 255hp 3.0 it should be pretty fast, and with the S54, woo hoo! I could easily see one as my next Bimmer.

BMW to MINI
I sold my 1974 BMW 2002 for $6250. The MINI dealer didn't want it on trade. It was an excellent car, but it was like getting out of the "Spirit of St. Louis" and getting into the Space Shuttle. I don't think anyone appreciates the MCS as much as I do because of the near 30 year jump in technology. I owned 3 '02 series BMW's including a Tii. To me the new MINI's are a lot like the 02's and the Tii, just a generation newer. They possess the same qualities and charm.
BTW Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Interesting..... BMW would have hoped that current MINI owners would eventually switch to BMWs not the other way around.
This should tell something about the current BMW product mix in the USA (Where is the 1-series?)
Message to BMW: Trim the fat from your cars

Trade a BMW - I think not
I don't think I would have traded a BMW if I owned one, but I did however trade a 04 Subaru STi on my 05 MCSC. Much more practical for everyday driving, I'm saving money on insurance, and love the top down option!!!!

Agreed -- the MCS is in the same spirit as my old Tiis! Really miss those cars sometimes, but then I consider all the headaches involved in the restoration and maintenance process.. The MCS fills the void and is a great daily driver -- even if it's not quite as cool as a pristine round tail light Tii ('72 Inka being my fav)
I traded my 2003 Land Rover Freelander in on the MINI..."sure" you think, but in fact the design work for the Freelander (most popular SUV in Europe), was done when --you guessed it-- BMW owned Rover. It scared them so bad they sold the entire company, save Mini, for 10 English Pounds...
Miss the Freelander and it's carrying capacity, but much prefer the MCS...

Didn't trade the 88 BMW 325i - got rid of it long before MINI but was totally satisfied by the service I always had at the dealer...and there was a fair bit of that needed near "the end".
LOVED the car in it's day

In July I sold my '93 Audi S4... up untill then the most fun car I'd had, just a super car. I bought a 528iT, in its own right a superb automobile. But having missed the thrill of a driver's car in December I sold my wife's 528iT, passed my wagon to her (set-up much better and with a lot less miles on the clock) and got an '04 MCS. The fun is back and this car's a keeper!
