Mr. Tomato - I'm proud of you.
May you do well, and find another MINI soon.
My faith in humanity has been restored.

To the dealers and financiers who get away with this kind of rip-off, I'm ashamed of you.

You know business is business, nothing personal, unless I make it that way. These guys made money, maybe next time he'll get them, and everyone got an education and may be better prepared to fight the good fight the next time. He needed them to get a vehicle until he gets his credit/insurance issues straightened out. They filled a need, albeit at a high price, that's CAPITALISM, ain't it GRAND?

In a perfect world the BMW finance mgr's roof will cave in this winter from the heavy weather up there this year. He''ll flip thru the Yellow Pages, make a call, and lo and behold, Mr. Tomato rolls up in his F-350, the only contractor willing to work outside this winter, and guess what his price will be...

Fair Price + $7973.16,

We Can DREAM, can't we?

OK, I shopped around today for her 330xi, and heres what I got...

2006 E90 330Xi Premium Pkg. Cold Weather and Auto Transmission

Dealer Price will all options was $43,520.00 give or take a few dollars from dealer to dealer (+/-)

All 4 BMW dealers also said they dicounted the car anywhere from $3,000 - $3,200

All leases are based on 36 months 10,000 miles a year

Flemington BMW
$2,233.64 Due at signing
$584.64 A month, taxes included

DiSimone BMW
$1,580.00 Due at signing
$630.15 A month, taxes included

Circle BMW
$1,988.70 Due at signing
$625.00 A month, taxes included

King BMW
$2,388.70 Due at signing
$609.00 A month, taxes included

King BMW also did my lease for ***** and giggles, and with my downpayment he told me my payment should have been $420.00 a month.

What do you guys think about these leases?

Thanks. I will listen this time lol

Don't count it out, stranger things have happened in my life over the years.

"What a long strange trip it's been..."

KARMA has a way of squaring up all the scores, here or later, you know.

My name is Curtis Dee M****, therefore CDMINI. I have wanted one of these since my wife and I were on our honeymoon in Paris, 5 days after 9-11-01, and they were just releasing them in Europe. They were in ads all over the Metro, and here 5 years later, we (and BMW credit) have one in the driveway. Whoops, wife just zipped off to work in it...My driving privileges have to wait until tomorrow.

Believe me, I know mucho about credit, repair, restoration, etc, you can guess how.

Go to Edmunds.com, NEW Cars, pull down a window with payment calculators, you'll need all the info, money factor, etc. Consider also a purchase and you kick in the match to the lease money down and get 5 to 7K into the deal and see what your payments are and what the calculator says is best, BUY or LEASE. All these dealers push leases because they make a good buck and get you in a car more expensive than you can actually afford. The lease figures mean nothing without the residual. That's how I had a sense that your first deal just didn't make much sense.

When I looked at lease or buy my MINI, I was only going to save 50 to 75 bucks a month on the lease, for a lot less money I know, but at that it was worth me committing to a higher monthly payment, dig a little deeper into my pocket for a down payment and have some equity in the car. The guy on your BMW site had the best grasp on the details of these things. But Edmunds is good also. It told my brother in law that he got a pretty good lease on his 350Z.

Does everyone really think this car dealer does business like NO OTHER car dealer in the country?

If it happened at all this guy maybe PAID thru the nose and it's buried in the paperwork of the new lease, probably most of that 7 grand down payment went to the charges on the old car,

IF any of it EVEN happened ...
I believe him when he says he got more then what he owed on his MINI, as I got the same deal. I didn't have any of the extensive mods, but I did put 37K on the car in a year and a half. Apparently the dealers treat it like you are trading in the car. They give you blue book, which in my case, even with all the miles, ended up being a few hundred dollars over what I owed. I didn't make the mistake of leasing my second MINI though.

My parents are Polish so they take anything that comes there way. They know of their credit situation and they know its messed up and they feel like as they will never get any good deals anymore so just deal with paying out the a$$. :impatient

WHen i go there they treat me like """God"""" tho. "Hey Art can i get you some coffee or anything else, hows the car treating you, thats good thats good, so when is your girlfriend going to get a new car?!?!"

well i lost a key fob already, at least they ordered me a new key fob with no charge... *sigh*

Now the all important question...... What do they say they going to give you at each one for the trade in of her '05 Mini. Is that a lease or did you buy it (you said in your post "picked up" but didn't say if it's a lease). Are your parents going to have to sign for this one too?

Its also a lease. we paid 26 for it after taxes and tags i beleive. every where i go they tell me i get some kinda of a tax advatage since i paid it already so, depends on the place i get like 21 to 22500. its a lease also, we are upside down like 3500 or so.. its a 36 month lease also. i put 1300 down on this in aug. and pay 444.92 a month for it 10K miles a year. bought it in august it has 2100 miles on it. her dad will sign for this one, his credit is fine, this is also because she needs insurance through him so..

K guys, i have arranged to pay the car off.. I am going to take one of my investment properties refinance it at a lower interest rate. Had 6.75% 30 year now im going down to 5.25% 30 year, i got this property for cheap which i will be getting rid of in about 6 months or so. with the car paid off, my mortgage guy said my payments will roughly go up 250-300 $ or so, i dont have the exact numbers yet but i will next week sometime. so i want to get it all straightened out by the end of january

Just came across this thread, what a roller coaster ride.....But it ended on a good note anyhow. Did anyone happen to read any of this thread from pirate4X4.com http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...=399203&page=1 It kinda reminded me of this but didn't end so well.

Tomato, Glad you were able to get yourself out of that lease. Have fun modding the car. I loved doing that, to a previous car, i just won't be cutting up my MINI.
