At night they just disappear!
oh yeah....that tends to make things a bit dirty

The other day a mate and I were out having coffee on a Friday night, and we heard a bunch of kids cheering. We looked over and saw a Dihatsu Charade (crappy little fwd trash box) and loads of smoke coming out the back - which of course, didn't make sense.....
When they stopped, you could see that they'd gone through the trouble of reversing a vacuum cleaner and blowing piles of flour all over the place....
Lame - but quite funny actually...

From the many that I communicated with, even before the MINI was released in the US, DS made the most final lists for 2 or 3 colors to choose from... very popular indeed. Probably one of the reasons I went with something else I suppose...
Another reason is that I wanted something to match the original Mini colors as best possible, and DS didn't fit that wish as well as other choices...
I'm guessing that many us polled family, friends and colleagues during the decision process... I certainly did. For me, I got several remarks that DS is very sharp, clean, and professional-looking (why it made my short list). Many of those same people also said that this little guy has tons of character and uniquness and with that the color should follow suit and be a little more vibrant or eye-catching... Heck, even my girlfriend at the time (now my wife), in Chinese no less, said the same thing
.
I still have my order form that I faxed-in with DS crossed-out, and IB somewhat confidently written-in. 1.5 years after the MINI was released in the US, I got the first production week available for the MCS in IB (I surrendered my waitlist spot many times to get this color). That was so difficult as I could have been motoring MUCH sooner, but I was committed to this color... plus, I wanted BMW/MINI to sort through some issues in their '02's, so the extra wait was more than just for a color preference...
No DS here, but a fan though

Funny...I came down to IB and DS. I had a friend that was willing to sell me his IB/W car, but after all the maths, it would have come out only $4000 or so cheaper than a new car. I figured if I was going to get a new car instead of his, getting IB wouldn't make sense - and that's what broke the fight between DS and IB in my mind......
Now I love it and am supremely happy with my choice!
