They put several (I think 5) layers of hi-fill primer on them, with a sanding down each time. Then a layer of normal primer, and a few layers of paint. it's perfectly smooth and matches the paintwork perfectly. if you're going to do it, I reccomend buying new arches, and getting those done, because when they pull the old ones off, they warp a bit. You will see gaps afterwards. These gaps can be fixed with a 'glue' but it's probably worth doing properly the first time. I would have, if I'd known it would have happened....

I don't know what winter would do to it, but just so you know, the town I live in, Canberra, drops below zero daily during winter....granted, it's not Arctic, but -7degC is enough for me....

I lived in Manitoba for a year - I know what cold is....

I had a scarf over my mouth....the breath was freezing on it straight away...we were only outside for as long as it took to go from building to building....I think the ambient temp was around -38degC

I remember the first morning I was in Winnipeg, A mate and I looked outside and saw the sky was blue and thought "that can't be too bad!" - it was 11 Jan! Over there, blue Sky in Jan means COLD!!! Little did we know....haha...

We walked/ran to get breakfast (only a few hundred meters away), and to this day, my ears still tingle in the cold - from the damage I did to them that day!

I think it's funny you people are talking about cold grey winter stuff.
Red is hot, like radiant heat.

I've often heard the words "stealth" and "sleeper" used with positive connetations...
