Almost trashed my MINI today

Not me, some jerk Junker guy driving one of those rust-bucket pickup trucks with chicken wire all around it. i was behind him at a stop sign, and he goes halfway through an intersection, stops, BACKS UP like super fast, i had to put it in reverse ans floor it otherwise he would have hit me! He then proceeds to turn right and go pick through some garbage. What a crazy jerk! I almost backed into the person behind me! Good thing nobody got hit at all, that would have been a nightmare, cause i KNOW that he would have ran, and if i hit the person behind me, it would probably have been my fault. DAMN JUNKERS. i swear my commute to school is dangerous, ive nearly gotten into like a million accidents.
Thanks for listening
Marco

Maybe its the phase of the moon today. I've had my new MCS just four days and was driving to work this morning when some fool did a right-turn-on-red into my lane as I entered the intersection at about 50mph! Had my xenons on in the early light and nothing else around to distract him. Here I am trying to break in my MINI by the book and I had to stand on the brakes and swerve to the left lane and HOOOOOOOONK and throw in some choice words. My first experience with the fantastic MINI response!

Wait a minute... I drive a pickup junker everyday to work. It is full of dents and a bent bumper but with almost 200,000 mile it just won't die. None of the dents were my fault. I wash it and wax it and obey most of the traffic laws so lets not hate on the entire junker population.

I lost one Mini to an idiot, then almost lost another 2 weeks later

I had an 05 Mini that was totalled when a guy in an SUV changed lanes in front of me and then slammed on his brakes, causing me to go under his rear end. I bought an 03 Cooper S in Palm Beach Florida and drove it home to Cincinnati. I parked on the street and got out, turned around and leaned in to get my bag off my passenger seat and heard tires squeeling! I froze, and turned back around slowly.... a teenage girl in an escort was stopped inches from breaking my knees and stripping off my drivers side door!

yeah, scary isnt it? Im not hating on Junkers, just the junkers that suck at driving. And by junkers im referring to people who drive those nasty trucks around and garbage-surf. They are common around these parts. Chicagoans know what im talkin about.

My wife and I put stuff (old vaccuums, etc) on the curb during our bulk-trash pick-up weeks. We take bets on how long it will take before the item disappears. Someone snagged our ancient vaccuum in less than 10 minutes.

crrrapp.. I hope no one judge me in my junker-like truck I'm driving right now until my shiny mini gets here.... I did notice the non eye-contact from mini drivers on the road. I suppose I can't do the waiving thing until I'm in one myself.

Now come on.....I have by all accounts a junker. 86 chevy van, primer gray rusting out. a clogged catylic converter, cracked windshield, one headlight and the opposite tail light will go on-off intermetently, there is no seatbelt for the drivers seat and the pass seat is ripped to shreads and best of all it has a non-functioning caliper on the pass side causing a wicked swerve into oncoming trafic if you slam on the breaks (easily controlled under normal breaking)......lol ....I use this POS to only go to and from the hardware store. This is the kind of thing you are allowed to drive when you live in a state with no motor vehicle inspections I bought this van for $250 when I got the MINI so because I refuse too haul a thing in the MINI

Nope. MINI owners rarely wave to us wannabes and future owners...

Granted, around here they rarely wave when we are in the MINI...

i was turning left onto a road, and went to the left most lane, then signalled and got in the right lane because the truck in front of me with a trailor was going slowwwww. All of a sudden that truck throws himself into my lane, THEN signals, and i see his trailor swinging towards my mini behind him!!! i guess he forgot his back end was longer with that? i jumped into a right turn lane and just missed having that trailor meet my drivers side door. i looked in my rear view as soon as i got to the right turn lane, and saw the truck that was getting ready to turn right onto that roads mouth DROP. The truck ended up cutting me off to get in that right turn lane, and i got back in the right straight lane.

Scared the **** out of me, but i got out of it safely. Thank god for this little car's size and handling.
