I am humbled by the testimonies I find here. To here the praises raised of my MINI’s brothers and sisters does my heart good. Knowing that my MINI is capable of such feats, and greater, but now hearing of them from you heralds great things for me and my MINI’s future.
I had to wait three long years before I finally met my modern MINI. My ’02 had 9k miles when we met in July of ’05. We now have 16k miles on the odometer. What a wonderful trouble free 7k miles it has been.
Make no mistake! The MINI of today has a wonderful heritage. I have owned four Classic Mini’s over the years (and one was a 1275cc Cooper S). But the MINI of today is by far the most powerful, the best handling, the best ergonomically, and the smartest MINI I have ever had the privilege to pilot.

I am humbled by the company we now get to keep………Les

phew!

I'm glad to be reading this thread. My MCS is on order and, frankly, all the whining had me worrying about my choice of vehicle. This thread provides counter-balance.

BTW, my current car is a VW Passat. I had all kinds of minor (i.e. the car never stranded me) issues in the first 2 years. I've just come to believe that if you want none of those things to happen to you, buy a Japanese car. Every time I shop for a car, I start at Honda. But I always leave because the cars have no soul. Or, at least, none that I can detect. Heck, this time I started my car search by looking at $50k Infinitis. I looked at the car's eyes: the lights are on but nobody's home. But MINIs pass that test.

Compared to my Landrover, the MINI is the most dependable vehicle I've ever lived with.

But seriously, we haven't had any probolems that have renderd us stranded. Yeah, we've had our little rattles and loose parts, but that doesn't count.
