My sanity remains.

There is a product called a scat matt. When the cat or other small animal jumps on it or touches it, it sends out a light shock (NO NOTHING EVIL HERE). It helps to serve as a deterent and is not harmfull to the kitty.

the "SCAT" Mat may remove they cat but you might be left with CAT SCAT on your bonnet after kitty is surprised by the shocking experience

You could get a cover. Get the kind that comes in a storage bag. Put the cover on the car and put the cat in the storage bag.

Believe it or not, some communities that have laws against dogs roaming free have nothing on the books regarding cats running loose.

People should keep their animals under control.

I love my dog and keep him under control. I hate cats. The only good thing about a cat is that it doesn't cause the damage a deer will when you hit it.

Yes, there is. Hook up a battery to the car frame and when the car gets touched, the cat gets zapped.

Problem though if someone else touches it:impatient

OK, I am a cat lover, need to go back to love the kitty mode

Has anyone else ever touched both terminals of a 9V smoke alarm battery with the tip of their tongue?

Not so long ago, there was a NAM post from a guy who built a soccer-goal looking thing, and called it the Cat Guard... There were pics and everything, it was kinda neat... Life is about compromises, right?

Don't forget that cats may discourage OTHER more malignant critters from getting too near your MINI. I've seen posts where rodents gnawed non-trivial parts in the engine bay, or nested in there - what a mess!

...or you could have the whole car repainted in Rhino Liner material. You can get it in many colors. Cat can't scratch THAT !

Remember to squeeze, not pull, the trigger...
