When I got mine I was technically 15 and 11 months and 26 days, I think, so I was almost 16. What blows about Indiana though, is that, I couldn't by law get my license until April 11.
I paid for mine in full, that has been strongly debated here on NAM, the only assistance I got was from the Will of my Grandmother who died last October, that was roughly for 8000. She was my best friend and said I should get the "apple red" she called it instead of the Dark Silver. She was also nice enough to pay for college. Now my mom and dad can enjoy a huge house and Corvette in Bay Harbor when I'm away at school!

But anyway I personally handed D&R's financial guy the cashier's check for 26,379, and got my picture taken. Why? Because I am the only customer in the history of the MINI dealership to pay for their car in full. It took 5 years of hard work, a great choice of stocks, and a loving grandmother who sadly never got to see it, to pay for this dynamite little car.
Now the only payment I have is insurance, and that is not cheap for a 16 year old!
Peace

Youngest MINI driver?
My co-driver and son is 14.5 years old and has to wait a year to get his driver's permit.
Since he thinks he can out drive me in a Go kart he's confident he can drive well with enough "training". I taught both my daughters how to drive already.
Should be interesting.:impatient
I did read that children pick up driving habits from parents so if you drive smoothly they will tend to do the same.

Haha, I've been kinda spoiled too. When I was 15 I had a 5-speed '96 Mustang GT (beautiful red car) and that was going to be my car until my dad totalled it.
I still miss that thing. Then after that was wrecked I got a brand new '04 SRT-4...and that was back in march of '04 when the SRT-4 was REALLY hot. I got looks and challenged by nearly every car on the street. I even had a few SUVs try to race me!

Does that make you feel any younger?
I'm 19 and I just got my Cooper S last week. I wonder how many young drivers here bought their cooper's with their own money?
I payed for my car 100% with my own hard earned money. It took me 10 months of playing internet poker while at college to afford the car
