R50/53 TCO
Okay. I am this close. She says the price is reasonable, the backseat will hold a carseat and I am not going to behave like a kid behind the wheel (much). There is only one hurdle between me and my mini: TCO. My CFO has learned a few things about the car (its a BMW, its a sports car, etc.) that make her wonder about how much it really costs to Motor.
I know it is too early in its lifecycle to get a full picture of costs for this car (the S) but I gotta ask my friends here at MCO to help me out. I can figure out how much 93 octane I'll be burning and how much I'll spend for 'tween-service-interval oil changes.
Are there any 40 something, non-smokers with clean records that can give me some ballpark numbers for insuring the car. The base warranty seems really thorough, any gotchas with the maintenance warranty?
The stoopid grin on my face only counts for so much, I need real numbers.

OK I can help u with couple of your question for starter using how much gas really depend on how often you drive and how much you drive it (Yeah and I forgot "HOW YOU DRIVE IT"
but for me I can usually drive it 400km b4 I run out of gas.(Not that I ever try that but I m usually at the range of 180 - 200 km when the tank is half gone) So you can calculate how much gas money you have to use.(I think the gas tank are 50L) For the oil changing part, you should really try to do it on your own. I mean is one of the easiest car to change oil on. There is actually a step by step oil change procedure some where on this forum, think is in the performance section.

Also don't forget to think about tires. The S does not have a spare, and runflats are quite expensive. How long they last of course depends a lot on which specific tires you have, and your driving style and environment, but some people are having to replace theirs well before the 20k mark.

There are quite a number of threads, some recent, about insurance costs. Start here. I think the basic opinion is that the MCS costs about what any comparably sized car would cost to insure. Certainly true for me.
As for the rest of TCO, I don't know what you're planning on doing with the car, but I have 5 words for you... German, First-Year, Sports Car. Let's face it, it's not a Camry/Accord. But you knew that.
If your company was going to get you an SUV, well, they'll probably come out ahead if they get you your S instead. But otherwise, the MCS won't be the most economical car they could purchase.
My point is, buy the car for all of the reasons that you want it. It's fun, unique, etc. etc. You'll be glad you did. But don't try to rationalize it for the wrong reasons. They'll come back to haunt you in the end.

In SoFlo it cost me about $1100.00 a year with a clean drivers record and 40 something.
