See pic below. The one on the left was left on my car. The one on the right is a new minimania black stubby. Look at the threads on the left one. Longer than the mini one. Left on is also a bit thicker. If it weathered bronze, would it weather uniformally??? I find that hard to believe

Opinions?

Now that you show the pic closer up, that(bronze one) certainly looks like mine did too.

I think its easily possible that minimania shortened the threads...and if it were to weather, it would weather uniformally, cause i bet each part sees just as much sun as the other parts.

Maybe they changed...but why would they have a bronze one to start with?

I can see them shortening the threads, But the weathering thing bothers me. This really looks uniform color through the whole antenna. No blotches or parts darker or lighter. Most of time the car is in the shade, not the sun.

I just dunno.

Why not lock tight that sucker? doing so would then at least require some channel locks to steal it.

Wouldn't that block the metal contact with the antenna, and make the antenna a non-functional ornament?

Whoa, good point. The loctite gut to squeeze between the threads to make it effective and probably acts as an insulator.

Bad idea ...
