R50/53 Returning my MINI to dealer
Returning my MINI to dealer
going to return my MINI, had the car for 3 weeks with 400 miles on it, the days i am owning is 4 days, rest of the time its in the shop, my lawyer friend told me just ask the dealer return the car or exchange it. I think i am gonna to do that
its really sad but when u spend 30k on a car and it sit in the shop all the time, you got no choice
.

Too bad. Perhaps your unhappy experience was due to a lemon. Maybe you can post photos of your Porsche instead and continue to post as though it were a MINI. Best wishes.

Good luck with that. "Unloading" a car is not as easy as dropping it off at the dealer and leaving the keys. Once you sign the papers and drive away, you become legally liable for the car because you are the owner. Maybe you are a millionaire given the fact that you seem to have a taste for expensive toys, but you still have to play by the rules.
Maybe you want to elaborate on the "problems" your MINI has had. Talk to MINIUSA and enlist a lemon law attorney if the problems warrant doing so.

Check your local lemon laws. You might need to have it in the shop a few more days before it qualifies... .

Actually, this is one area where MB's have gone down the toilet: reliability.

boquanzhu: Very sorry to hear about your terrible experience with the MINI. Mine was in the shop more than I would have liked too, and certainly more than I expected for a new car. Still I'm glad I stuck it out 'cause I really love this car!
If you don't mind sharing, what sort of problems were you having that kept your car in the shop?

Me too. I'm horribly disappointed that my Mini has bug splatter all over the windshield. I'm thinking about trading it in! Jeez, just take it to the shop and tell them not to call till it's 100%. In the meantime, drive one of your other flashy cars.

Also, if you look up his previous posts, they do go over some of his past so far with his MINI. Why are so many people being rude to this guy just because he has some other nice cars, he's unhappy with the problems with his MINI and is telling us about them. Chill people

I agree on that, the guy is not happy and he is not settling, what is wrong with that? I would do the same thing and return the car, and would hire the best lawyer I could afford. Go for it man

I don't care for the cheap shots either....so what if the guy has other nice cars, I don't care even if he was Jay Leno, a brand new car should be trouble free, period.
And BTW, nice choice on the CLS 55
I hope you'll get your troubles resolved soon and find out how much fun the MINI is

boquanzhu,
My husband and I understand what you are going through. Last year, we purchased a 2004 Audi TT that provided us with no trouble free days of driving during the first 37 days of ownership. It was in the shop for 23 of those days. Audi headquarters was willing to replace it with a 2005 TT which had to be ordered. I was pleased as can be since we were suppose to wait until 2005 to purchase a 2005 model. The 2005 TT has been absolutely trouble free and a joy to drive.
You can look as this as an opportunity to get the 2006 you were debating if should wait for at the 2005 pricing. They will probably allow you change the specs if you have any second thought about which options you should have gotten or shouldn't have. The Lemon Law is on your side. It is much easier to go through Mini for a replacement than to pursue the "lawyer" route.
Have you allowed your girlfriend to drive "her" Mini? What happened to you other MB commuter car? We just picked up my CR/B MCSa mid-July and it has been trouble free so far. Knock on wood.
Good luck!

why people so mad at me because my MINI has problems? when you buy a new car it should be preblem free, and what do I get, owning a car for 3 weeks and its been in the shop for 3 weeks? They reprogramed the computer and took every single parts off the computer they cant find a problem, but the lights just keep coming back on. The service guy said he dont know what to do.

:(I talk to the manager at the dealership, they will replace me a car if they cant find the problem till monday.

Glad to hear that your dealer seems to be cooperative so far about getting you a new MINI after all your issues. Hopefully, your new MINI will be trouble free Thread
