This evening I jumped in my MCS to go to the store. I heard some sort of noise from the rear as I backed up. When I reached the road and tried to go forward, there was a lot of noise from the rear. The road in front of my house is uphill and snowcovered. I often turn off the asc, because it seems to take the hill better when I do. This time, the asc light stayed on no matter what I did. There was lots of noise from the rear and very little acceleration. A little ways down the road, I pulled off to turn around and head back to the house. Before I turned around, I decided to try the old, "turn it off, turn it back on solution". It worked! The car seems to be running fine now, but the "service engine soon" light is stuck on. The kicker is, I now live in Maine, a long way from the nearest dealer in Peabody, Ma. Anybody have any Ideas?

Call MINI Roadside Assistance...explain what happened to them...it may be better to have it towed than drive it for an extended distance based on what has transpired.
