Today, myself, Randy, Kelly (ficcion), and Brad (csbrgmini) went out to the Second Creek race track near Denver International Airport. Lots of fun.
Special thanks to Randy for his instruction today. He's easily the most fluid driver I have had the pleasure of riding with. As in the past, it was impressive to see such tact and smoothness. Something for me to aspire to. :smile:

Reluctantly crouched at the starting line,
Engines pumping and thumping in time.
The green light flashes, the flags go up. (no green light today)
Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup. (no cup either)
They deftly maneuver and muscle for rank, (RandyBMC a little more deftly)

The arena is empty except for one man, (4 actually)
Still driving and striving as fast as he can.
He's going the distance. (1.7 miles around)
He's going for speed. (90 mph on the back straight)
She's all alone
In her time of need.
Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse,
He's going the distance.
No trophy, no flowers, no flashbulbs, no wine, (mental note: bring this stuff next time)
He's haunted by something he cannot define.
Bowel-shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse, (I hate it when that happens)
Assail him, impale him with monster-truck force.

Wish I could have been there with you, even though my driving would secure last place for sure.

Colorado was in a drought last year and had a pretty wicked forest fire season, and it looks like it's only going to be worse this year.

INSPIRING IT WAS! That was awesome. You aught to sell it to MINI for their next commercial. It was every bit as good (better in some ways) that the ones they made and are on MINIUSA. Didn't they have a contest at some point for new material? This would be a great candidate. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to have some window dressing (Make the driver a beautiful babe that pulls off her helmet at the end.)
