You could also get a Civic Si, RSX, Carolla S, and several others in this price range.
To me the MINI has a classic look and feel that the others don't give me. Sure I could get something else and have it now.... but If I wasn't happy then I wouldn't want it.
The MINI makes me smile more than the rest.
The MINI wins in my books.

You WILL get amazing amount of attention - wanted or not driving your mimi! I have had mine in the SF Bay Area for a little over a month and I get thumbs up, smiles, honks etc...When I come back to my car after parking I can expect to find a crowd...I should be selling them! The dealers should give new owners fact sheets to hand out...
