I'm curious, 4 lane divided highway. Do you folks usually stop for pedestrians that are waiting if there is no stop sign or stoplight at a crosswalk? If there was no traffic or stop sign or stoplight, and I was following a car I may be caught a little by surprise too that they were just stopping in the middle of the road. I understand it's a crosswalk, but that tells me to look out for people crossing, not to stop and risk getting rearended for the pedestrian waiting on the side. Also, what happens if your letting the person go, and the person behind you changes lanes right into the walker? I know you were trying to do a good thing, so don't get me wrong, but I'm actually curious in this situation. I was just wondering if there was a stop sign, etc. Maybe I'm wrong.
