Miami, FL
but I wished I either lived in Ormond Beach, FL (Near Daytona) or Seattle, WA (I also love the Pacific Northwest).
Miami is not all that. It is a crowded, hot, humid city, filled with rude, obnoxius people and never ending traffic. I hope to move out of here in the future.

Portland, Oregon

30-60 minutes in all directions gets you to the following:
20 minutes to the Columbia Gorge:

Mt Hood is an hour away

The Oregon Coast is an hour or so:

And last, head southeast and you'll hit 1000 miles of this, in an hour and a half

Greater Miami, FL viewed from space: (The vast land mass west of the city is Everglades National Park)

One of our daily driving routes:

My home: Downtown Miami

Tornado over Miami:

View of downtown Miami after takeoff from Miami International Airport:
(You could almost see my house)
4th of July in Miami:

I-95 Southern Terminus with Downtown Miami in the horizon:

Miami Metromover (Fully automatic) that serves 20 stations in the downtown area:

Miami Metro System. 1 line, 22 stations:

Vizcaya Palace and Gardens. This now museum belonged to millionaire James Deering (Founder of International Harvester) and was built in 1915. There are thousands of antique and fine art pieces in the house and gardens. Mr. Deering brought even complete square fountains dissassambled from Europe and then put together here. This is a must place for any new Miami visitor. Also here, then President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II met here in 1987 to discuss the final details that would put the final nail on the "Cold War"

If you look closely in all that foliage, you'll see a small spot of green in the middle near the right edge of the photo. That's my pine windbreak. We own from that spot to the top of the hill in Mansfield, Vermont. The big spread in the foreground is the Trapp Family Lodge...our neighbor. The other photo is our house during a mild winter. Pete

Raised in Richmond, Schooled at Mt Mansfield Union HS in Jericho. There was a little ski place in Underhill called Underhill Bowl, do you know if it's still there?

Funny. Last February my wife sent me out to the garage to get something out of our chest freezer. I reached in and marvelled at how WARM it was inside!
Underhill Bowl: I'll ask around since I'm not familiar with that side of the mountain. Typical Vermonter. When we travel we have to marry into the local population since we can't find our way home! Pete
