R50/53 Jet Black Owners
Unify don't divide.
I'm only part way through my 90% black out goal (handles and gas cap, outline of S and MINI badges stay chrome eventually the rest will go, plan on making the headlamps yellow lamin-x covered after I add driving lights, after I swap to aero grill; long detailed plans I slowly pick away at as my budget of expendable income allows. Here are some updated pics cover as far as I am right now.

Belt line and side grills are black, and I have done a rear seat delete in black carpet, so the current lack of tint is less noticable when looking downward.

Closing tips for all...
To close the bonnet I usually pull my shirt cuff over my hand and close it by pushing down on the zenon lamps.
Closing the doors I use the same method as well or I grab from the top corner to close.
To close the boot I usually grab the actual latch that locks and one I'm able to I'll push it shut by pressing on the license plate.
I'll tell you though, my concerns for keeping my mini in good shape is really testing my relationship, My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts.

Midnite, good tips there, I close my bonnet by using the inside of the scoop. You should have seen the confusion on my face when I went to close my friends AB MC; he had to do it. doors a good push from the lock, latches in side and a good swing for the boot.
Now for my real reason for responding, thinking you're nuts is really ok
You are only in trouble if she gets jealous, but you're in good company when she understands and she's a keeper when she shares it.

Not at all...
No, my care for the car is making my relationship with it stronger.
I notice itin the way it performs, I mean when I don't shower I feel sluggish too!

Although, she is looking to get a car and she is now thinking she might want a mini because they are nice and she says "I can take care of it for her"
Hey all,
I shut the doors with the glass or keyhole.
I shut the boot with the license plate.
My wife call my MINI "The other woman" - It only takes $$ and time to keep the MINI in shape....oops, maybe ahe has a point??????
I love my JB/JB MCS - nothing like it on the road

when I close the trunk I just push the licence plate, and when close the doors I just push the trim.. But black car is the most difficult color to maintain..

HEre's an update of the Pearl....

Still have more planned, but its a few significant steps closer to the final goal.
As far as those minor scratches (like when you find out the hard way about the dealer haivng a machine wash) I've found a few coats of a good wax to be sufficent for street use, not sure if anything short of a PC is sufficent for show quality though.

I'm sure everyone but me knows this, but where do you get the "vehicle kills silhouette" stickers? And how about the white (no orange) cover/lenses for the parking lights?
The Pearl is looking awesome, by the way.

The top rows are from the original ad in autoweek that got me looking at MINI.Fro the parking lights I just to some silver model spray paint lightly doused the bulbs and they're plenty white
Thanks for the compliment
