moved to the bay and installed some springs

just moved to CA from NJ and decided to take advantage of the better roads. finally got to install the M7 springs i bought a couple of months ago and found the install real easy. the springs were a bit lower than expected but that's what i wanted and i'm extremely happy with it. i'm glad i waited for the install otherwise my car wouldn't have made it onto the truck during transport. yesterday i was able to take it on a "spirited" drive along side my bro through some hills. the car felt tighter in turns and combined with its softer ride on bumps makes these springs excellent for street use. my bro's car is the '83 rabbit gti below that is a work in progress with a swapped ABA motor. for those not down with the vw vortex lingo that's a motor from a MKIII vw. currently i only have an alta intake and my bro was definitely pulling on me through the first and second gears but the MINI definitley pulled through as i got into third. the first pic below is before the spring installand before the move.

thanks johnny and i will be sure to share some of that mini love  . hey just a quick question. i noticed in your pics that u don't have a front plate. i know that the CHiP's are usually strict around here and i was wondering if u had any trouble not having a front plate? my dad doesn't have a front plate either, but the car didn't come with any mounting for one. so being that i have a euro plate i'm afraid that it might be an issue.

Chef, no I don't have a front plate. Those pics were taken w/in a week of my having bought the car. In fact, I still don't have a front plate, and I'm not going to put one on until some tells me.

I have ran Euro plates on ALL my vehicles front and rear for the last 4 years, and knock on wood, no problems. My wife even has gotten thumbs up from CHP officers on 2 different occassions!

Welcome to CA, enjoy your stay, and be careful, not ALL roads are created equal, there are some pretty bad ones. WELCOME!
