It seams like my ac vents are not working correctly but I did not pay much attention to air flow on the test drive so nothing to compare it to. Here is my Question. In panel mode the 4 round vents should be the only thing blowing air correct? Also when I put it on my feet I get alot out the defrost? Any info would help> Thanx!

Do you have auto or manual a/c?

My MINI also still puts some up to the screen when set to feet - it may be a deliberate feature to keep the screen clear.

When you set to "face" there is a large vent on top of the dash area (further back from the screen) that has air also. That is definitely by design.

i just heard something from a mini owner warning me about the auto ac. He told me you have to hold down the button for about three seconds and then you can control it manual how much you want it to blow out. If you just hit it once it blows hard, this may be just for defrost im not sure, but he said it bugged him for weeks, maybe thats your problem and maybe not but i tried. good luck

It's an odd "feature." For the first 10 days I drove around with the defrost on Hurricane Andrew strength until I finally broke down and looked through the manual.

That's just for the defroster...you can control the AC without doing that.

LOL

Sometimes I get scared to put on the defrost. I feel like it will blow off my contacts.
