Would a 15% pulley add off the line ooomph without affecting the overall balance? If so, when is the next pulley party!!!!

It seems the stock setup runs a bit rich, so you will be OK with the 15. Everything else seems to be within "safe" operating spec for the extra boost. Good luck..
while my 05 MCS is not what i would call "Fast" .... it has definately held its own against what i thought were faster cars...
I've race several of my friends cars including a IS300, a Modded RSX-S, a Stock WRX, and a 201hp GTi VR6 and have kept up or even won them on some ocassions... not bad for 168hp..
but i could agree with all of you here, where the MINI shines is in the Handling department... my friend with a 350z has a hard time keeping up with me in the twisties..and he's a better driver than me

Bluezone, the MC and MCS are very different cars when it comes to power. The MC requires more work on the gear shifter to keep it in the power band. When I test drove the MC, I didn't realize I wasn't driving it like it was meant to, that is I shifted at 2,500 and 3,000 rpm, which was about right when I had my Acura Integra. Acceleration was decent, but not quick.
These days, I shift at 6,700 rpm when I want to move fast, or from day to day driving, between 4,000- 6,000 rpm. I like to cruise at 4,500-5,000 rpm on the freeway in 3rd gear because stepping on the gas makes the MINI accelerate quickly!
The last time I drove with a bunch of MINIs, I kept up with the MCS's by downshifting a lot---when they punched the accelerator and took off, I downshifted and shifted late to maximize HP. So while it was less effort for the MCS's to go fast, I hung tight on their tails in my MC. This would be true even without any mods, but the intake and exhaust make it purr, and the ECU mod was probably the biggest bang for the buck.

Guilty as charged. Yes, I was shifting at 2000 and 3000 RPM's
. I actually thought that letting the RPM's go past 4000 or 5000 would cause serious transmission and engine problems. I tried it for the first time today, letting Mini get to around 5000 to 6000 RPM's before I shifted. Definitely made a difference...Mini was much quicker on the drawStill want more speed but I'd like to keep warranty if possible. I'm guessing a reduction pulley will void but can someone tell me if an Intake, Exhaust and ECU mod void warranty? According to my dealers, they can't do any MOD work at all
. Therefore they literally had no answer.
If you do an exhaust/intake mod, the dealer will only void the part that you changed (dont hold me to this, but most dealers will). If you do a pulley, you void everything under your hood. Trust me, the sound from a nice exhaust and m7 AGS will do wonders (please lets not start the ags debacle again...), both in sound and speed. Wait till your waranty is up and then do the 15% pulley. You will enjoy it
Today at a stop light, I noticed a Subaru pull up behind me. On green, I quickly sped from the limit line to a brisk 80 MPH, red lining all the way through the gears. The Subaru kept up with me nicely.
