R50/53 New dealer in Calgary Alberta
I just received a response from Mini Canada about using a BMW dealer to service a Mini. They said NO. But I did find out that a new dealer is opening up in Calgary Jan 15th.
Email response to my question from Mini.ca attached
Thank you for contacting MINI Canada! We apologize for the delay in
responding to your e-mail.
Please be advised that MINI Crowfoot in Alberta will be opening on January
15, 2003!
The specifics will be as follows:
MINI Crowfoot
650 Crowfoot Crescent NW
Calgary, AB
T3G 4S3
Telephone - 403 275 6492
We apologize that it has taken this long! Our retailer network will expand
in the future with growing demand, however at this time our MINI retail
organization is represented in virtually every major market. We do apologize
for the inconvenience.
Although MINI is part of the BMW group, it is an entirely independent brand.
BMW retailers are not trained, nor are they equipped to perform maintenance
work and repairs on MINI brand vehicles. Although we do empathize with your
situation, we cannot recommend any other retailer to service your MINI.
As always, we are pleased to assist you with all of your questions or
concerns.
Sincerely,
MINI Canada

Questions about MINI
I am thinking seriously about buying cooper s. I do have one concern and
that is I live in Edmonton with the nearest dealer 6 hours drive away in
Saskatoon. Are there plans to open an Alberta dealership ? Can any of the
regular BMW dealers service the MCS ? Thanks John

Thanx for the info there John. I'm one Western province over from ya, in BC. Was wondering when that dealer was going to pop up. They were saying early Fall of '02 for the longest time. There's not too many Albertans on this site yet, or even MINI owners in general from Alberta from what I hear. Good to see that'll be fixed soon. Now it'll only be a 3 hour trip to your nearest dealer. That MINI dealer will make the 13th Canadian dealer, if I'm not mistaken. Still going for it? What options inside and out do you have planned? Welcome to the site.
Cheers,
Cheers,
Having a dealer in Calgary makes the decision quite easy... I plan on becoming a MCS owner this year, still need to place my order. Owned a classic S in 71 in UK. Have always wanted to replace it. I figure the new MCS should deliver based on all I've read and seen. Am interested in more HP, not interested in sun roof. want leather interior but will consider aftermarket seats. I like Red with white roof and 17 inch white minilite type wheels
