R50/53 MINI and the surgeon
MINI and the surgeon
I recently received some bad news. I was diagnosed with cancer and need to have surgery. In the meantime, my MCS was built this week.
So I asked the surgeon if they could possibly get me scheduled ASAP. This way I can have enough time to recover before the mini comes in. I go in tomorrow for surgery.. so hopefully I will be up and able for the mini's landing.
So be sure and hug the ones you love and tell them so. Don't worry about the small stuff and be sure to stop and enjoy the good thing in life... cause you never know... wish me luck...
I also have this little guy to look forward to:

Mike, I will be praying for you. My dad also fell victim of an agressive type of colon cancer 17 years ago, but at the time treatment options were not as advanced and effective as they are today. He passed away when I was 16 and needless to say it was a very tough experience, so I fully understand how difficult the news may have been for you.
I am confident that everything will work out fine and if your doctor did an early detection of the illness your chances to make it through will be greatly improved.
You are sooo right about enjoying life at its fullest in despite of the little irritants. Sometimes we take life for granted and get hunged up in petty things, thus losing the vision of what it is real important: God, family, friends, love, etc.
My sister is also scheduled for heavy duty surgery next week as well (Not cancer related) so we are also a bit stressed out in my family but we are confident that everything will work out fine in the end.
Mike, I hope you have a speedy recovery from your surgery. You have a lot to look forward too (Beautiful baby!) and make sure to be in shape once you get that MINI in your hands!
One of the best medicines for the body!
Keep us posted.

Best wishes for a quick and full recovery!
They say one of the things that seems to have a big bearing on a cancer patient's recovery is a sense of hope and optimism. Looks like you've got a LOT to look forward, too. (Great pic of the baby - what a cutie!)

mikem53 - Good luck! Just remember that recovery is just as important as the surgery. Take it easy, let people wait on you for a while and, when your healthy, pay them back with lots of rides in the new car.
Remember, with your CA friends on NAM, we'll be thinking about you 3-hours after the East coast has gone to bed.
Take care...

Here is to a speedy recovery.
Charlotte has some of the best hospitals in the nation (I speak from experience) - so I think you will be fine. Let you friends and family pamper you in your recovery.
And that is a fine looking little fellow you have.

I'm pretty sure I saw MINI listed as a cure-all in my holistic health dictionary -- so you're all set!
Hope your surgery is going well (I assume that your surgery started at an ungodly hour this morning, as surgeons, in my experience, are morning people freaks.
).
You have a whole bunch of people with really cool cars sending you lots and lots of good energy!
