Extended Warranty…

Who has an extended warranty, who did you get it with, what does it cover, how much did it cost and do you now think it is worth what you are paying for it?

Sorry to cut through all the BS a salesman would go through, but I don’t need the BS “just the facts” to quote Joe Friday.

Extended warranties for the MINI's are good when they're not modded..and I just found out that no extended warranty company will honor the JCW package, so I'm out as far as looking for one other than BMW's warranty extended to 100,000 miles

Otherwise, one good link to look up would be

www.directservicecontracts.com

They have some pretty good rates, and I believe they do business in your state too.

...Now be nice or i'll scrape my nails on the board .

I should have noticed that SNDWAVE, hardly a newbie, was the originator of the thread.

I STILL think more time needs to go by (at least for North American owners who haven't got anything older than a 2002 model), before you'll get much feedback from actual USERS of an Extended Warranty.

Peace,
Tatt

Let me try this in English because I think my foreign language I used in the original post could have been misleading.

Who has
an extended warranty and can answer my questions.

Not, I want to or it doesn’t cover or I’m thinking about it.

Who has one?

With that kind of response, I think the answer you're going to get now would be GO LOOK IT UP YOURSELF THEN AND STOP BEING LAZY

Google works, Ask Jeeves works, MSN Search works, and all by the magical entry

EXTENDED WARRANTY

English enough for you, or would you like it in either French, German, Spanish, or Russian, because I speak 'em all baby!!!!!!!

Sarcasm doesn't suit you, some of us were just trying to help because we didn't want to come right out and call you on not doing your homework.

English… Is it a second language here?

I’m thinking most just want to post and don’t truly read why you are responding other than one more post to your name or newbie’s thinking they are being helpful.

I really wish people would just post facts when people ask a direct question or questions and some one wants a direct answer. I don’t know how many times I’ve read posts that start off with a direct question and go down hill from the first post, including my own posts, as this one. What is this, a misunderstanding of the English language or just a want to post an opinion?

When someone asks a direct question(‘s), how about posting a direct answer - cool, what a concept. You people just post. Well read the question and post to a direct question with a direct answer, not an opinion or what you don't want or need.

If you want to play on the board in Off Topic that’s one thing, but if anyone asks a direct question in "MINI Talk" they don’t expect every answer but what they asked about. Its obvious responding people have no concept of a question in English and it seems most of them frequent this forum.

I get more direct responses in “Off Topic” BTW and this is supposed to be the definitive MINI question and answer forum.

Doing a search is bogus sometimes and this is one of them because I’ve asked five questions in reality. Doing a search on any one comes up with nothing but bogus replays of people who don’t understand English as a question and a direct answer.

If no one has an extended warranty that’s fine, but I don’t need to weed through posts from people who have no comprehension of the English language or questions I asked. Or ask for a response from Dave who speaks many languages, but still understands none, because my question was about extended warranties, not how many languages do you speak, but can’t seem answer my questions in any of them.

Anyone picking up to any of this yet?

I would rather have a post no person responds to rather than a question no one has a clue about, but responds anyway.

This room is getting too hot all of a sudden!

Calm down folks.

Sndwave, did you check NAM's dedicated forum for extended warranties?

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ysprune=&f=121

This topic is also of interest to me, although my '05 MCS only has 1,250 miles as of today.

Let me know.

I went with onesourceautowarranty.com. It cost me $1800 4yrs or 100,000 miles with $100 deductible I am just about to hit 50,000 in the next few weeks. They are great customer service wise when purchasing it we'll see how they are when I actually need to use the warranty.

sndwave, I've had extended warranties before on many cars...I paid a zero percent finance monthly rate for them in the past anywhere from $80/month to $100/month for 12-24 months...the link I posted in the second post of this thread was only an example of the inclusions and exemptions of what a "typical" extended warranty from any one of dozens of extended warranties would cover. All you had to do was click on the link that I provided to give you an example of what they would cover, and what would not be covered. Many extended warranties are the same in what they do and do not cover, but it is up to you, the one searching for a warranty, to decide what particular one is best for you.

But behavior breeds behavior sndwave...you asked a question, and those of us who wanted to post a reply, THOUGHT we might have helped you a little by offering advice or suggestions on what to look at. Like it's been pointed out, and you could have learned this in the handy search feature, there is a definitive forum of topics here on NAM covering exactly what you were looking for...there's even a sponsor here from Warranty Direct that you could have emailed or PM'd directly with any extended warranty questions. I may be a "newbie" to this board, but could care less about my post count or trying to raise it, as I don't believe it gives me any sort of status as you clearly do

If you come off acting the way you did in your reply, then you're going to be treated accordingly plain and simple...as a "veteran" of this board, I think you would know better than that, but you chose to show your true colors, and you still aren't backing down from your poor attitude. Glad I could be of help, even though you didn't pick up on it right in front of your face with a direct link to what one would cover, how much it would cost, etc...etc...

Have a good day, and try not to get too bunged up over too many things...you'll feel alot better if you just take a breath and realize that we were only TRYING to help you out brother.

Consider this as your friendly reminder that maybe you can still learn something from a "newbie", but a newbie who isn't going to do all of your homework for you.
