How long did it take your Mini to get from the Distribution Center, to your dealer (time spent in the Dist. Center included)?

I'm wondering because while originally told my Mini was waiting at the port of exit, it had in fact been on a ship since the 29th!

Well, my Mini is due in port on the 11th of this month. I called my dealer and mentioned that and he said they usually get the cars 1 week after it reaches the port (Charleston to Jacksonville).

Yea, originally the dealer was telling me when I ordered in March that I wouldn't see it until September, July sounds soooo much better.

My production date was June 28th and it looks like I'll be recieving my Mini S on or about July 20th, so around a month after production. The boat first docks in New Jersey/New York and then on to Charleston where my car is off loaded.

My cooper gets here on the 12th... Called my dealer, and he said it should be ready for pickup around the 20th, maybe a few days later... Now every road i'm on, i think how cool it would be to drive my Mini down!

Living in Arlington right now. I'm getting my S from Tom Bush as well. How have they been treating you?

Our 2 Minis just hit shore on 7/8 in SC. I too have been wondering what the time frame is from VPC to dealer - especially on east coast.

On another Mini web site, they did a poll:

(US) How long was your car at the distribution center?

1-7 days 54.76%
8-12 days 23.81%
13-17 days 9.52%
18-22 days 2.38%
23-27 days 4.76%
over 27 days 4.76%

Just to give you some idea.

I've been calling several places, and as long as there is no new recall, or some problem which had to be fixed, the average wait is 3-4 days... This came from my dealer, and 2 different representatives!

the going across the atlantic takes from 12-15 days, depending on the weather. When they said the 2-3 weeks, i think they mean from the port of exit, to your dealer

My production date was Jun 14 and on that date it changed to awaiting transport. I picked up my car at the dealer July 6. But cars are still coming in from that boat as of today. I believe my car was on the first truck to my dealer.

Mine was also june 14th, which was changed to the 12th... Now it's on a ship, (or thats what it says) and it's expected to arrive on the 13th in New Jersey!

We ordered our MINI just a few weeks ago. It is scheduled to be built sometime during August with a delivery date of late September. I don't have any production numbers yet, but very excited about our new car!

By the way, our MINI will be the very last 2002 model year to be produced. New MINIs scheduled to be built on or after September 2002 will be MY2003 vehicles. However, I am not 100% if this applies to the Cooper 'S' model due to the long waiting lists on those cars.
