Rec' plate from Frampton's yesterday (less than a week from GB, pretty good). Couldn't wait, so I went out and removed the "ugly hunk of plastic" from the front of Birdie and took some measurements. Transferred the measurements to the plate (it is some sort of acrylic rather than metal -- no rust worries) and drilled 2 holes. Took it out and attached to Birdie. The blue for the background of the GB and Union Jack matches Indi Blue almost perfectly. Now MOTORING w/ a nod to the birthplace of the MINI.

This is a moment where I am so grateful to live in PA...no front plates required so I mounted a Euro plate on the front of my girl when I had the bonnet stripes added. I love the look of the MINI without the "ugly hunk of plastic" on the front and with the Euro plate...looks so much more authentic...I have lots more folks asking about her...loving it! I had my custom plate made at Mattman Enterprises. The plate cost me $24.95 plus $12.95 for the mounting bracket. They did a great job and I got it in a few weeks. Highly recommend! Check out the photo below.

I dunno about a euro plate in MA, but Ive been driving around with no plate in the front for 5 years and have yet to be bothered. This is in the burbs close to Boston and in the city itself.

I want to vouch for Framptons too! See the plates This guy is a class act. I sent him an email asking about prices and within 20 minutes he had replied. It was late at night in Michigan too. I really wanted a GB Euro plate and had such a hard time finding one. I also wanted one with the Union Jack on it (to match my roof), and this guy has it. I got "Coopah" placed on it and he sent me a photo of it just before it was mailed out (less than 12 hours later). Now how is that for service? Top-notch. Plate cost me $30 (includes shipping) and I bought the chrome frame for an additional $19. A little pricey, but for exactally what I wanted, I think it's a fair price. Plus I don't mind paying money to someone who treats me right. Can't wait to see it on my baby.

BTW: When I took off that ugly front piece, I had some writing on the MINI underneath it. Has anyone else had this? It's some letters and numbers. Possiby something that was done in Oxford? I can't seem to get this off either. A little tough to see it, because it's in like a pink crayon.

I like the looks of my MINI too much to drill for a front plate right now! I'll break the rules until I get in trouble too much for not having it. l'll just play dumb if I'm confronted..."sorry officer, I don't own a drill!!"

I do like the front Euro plates though...very cool.

You don't have to drill into your MINI to attach the Euro plate. It uses the same screws, which the ugly plastic piece used.

I just received my plate from Framptons today. It is very nice and I also bought the chrome plate. I like how it compliments my MINI's chrome, but when I put it on the MINI, it doesn't sit flush with the car. It "bows" out some, and it also doesn't go all of the way to the top of the Euro plate indentation. Anyone else experience this?
