Still deciding on car

I have made a list of my possible cars:

(1 Acura Integra Type-r
(2 Subaru Impreza WRX
(3 Mini Cooper
(4 Nissan 240 SX converted to S13
(5 Toyota Celica

They are not in a certain order although the type-r is the most likely choice, is it as fun as the mini. It is the easiest to modify as it is a very popular tuner. Any advice is very appreciated.

Why not a used striped (plain) Cooper S?

Why not a Mazda 3?

Integra Type R is pretty bland and common (even with easy to find and cheap upgrades).

The MINI (MC or MCS) is probably the most fun car to drive in your bunch even with stock setup.

Are you looking for used?

(1 Acura Integra Type-r <= never know parts changed, missing.
(2 Subaru Impreza WRX <= tranny dies quick, probably beaten to death.
(3 Mini Cooper <= typically in good condition, fun to drive.

(4 Nissan 240 SX converted to S13 <= FR! but the cooper will
most-likely out handle it.

(5 Toyota Celica <= imho, these cars are not that great.

I'd say if you don't look at the cars in your list and immediately want the MINI you should get something else.

I agree with Resmini....if you can even consider those other cars, the MINI might not be lighting you up the way mine did me....I wanted a MINI as soon as I laid eyes on one actually driving. I think I started the process that day (June of '02: message boards, MINIUSA, dealer phone calls, prices and locations and options and the whole nine yards, all when I hadn't even thought about what I might get after the Mustang Convertible). Keep in mind that my first car was a ragged 850 Mini, and I never got a Cooper S when I was younger, and the chance to get this new cool thing was absolutely necessary and important and had to happen as soon as possible. Would you buy one in New York to get it sooner? That's how bad I had it......and drove it across the country on a great delivery adventure which I would strongly recommend....Bruce in Santa Monica
