R50/53 MINI Moving
I found a reliable company that has moved numerous MINIs from Ohio to CA.
Concours Transport.
One reason why I went with them is because it is fully covered from the elements.

Don't use AutoLog. Aside from them subcontracting to Union Pacific railroad (who lost the rail car carrying at least 4 vehicles for a couple weeks), I was told by the depot where I picked it up that they're typically 2-3 weeks behind schedule. Just my experience.
We had our new 05' Cabrio shipped from VA to CA back in September. Because it was a rag top, we decided we wanted it in an enclosed carrier. I did a ton of research, etc. etc. and went with a company based in SC called De Moise Trk-ing. If we could have done it, we would have flown back and driven across, but just couldn't get the time off needed...
It was $1425 door to door - no problems at all! They were AWESOME to work with... I never asked them the price for an open carrier so I have no idea. Their phone # is 864-609-9390. Non-enclosed is obviously cheaper...
