MINI USA reads the posts.

I just can't figure out how to send the link on this site, but it is on page 1 "Help, Water is Pouring in my A Pillars". Or something like that.

Cool blinkers Andy!

Red

>>Install was a piece of cake. Took about 3 minutes per side. Just slide the old lens back and pop it out, slight twist to release the lamp. replace the white lamp with the supplied orange one, and re-install.

nice! I'll definitely have to keep those in mind for this summer when I feel like the car needs a treat

I'm seeing so many more mini's out there on the road lately. Fewer and fewer of the drivers wave

Oddly, none of them look quite like my car

Yes, it does block some of the light, but it is still quite visible. No concerns at all at night, but on a bright day, it is less visible. I am toying with the idea of smoke tint on the tail lights and side reflectors.

Just got my registration from CA DMV. They want $193 for Arnold to waste on things less important than MINI mods and track days.

Quick opinion poll.

Which would you rather spend $193 on?

1. Track day at Laguna Seca
2. Alta swaybar
3. New helmet
4. Registration

What do you all have to pay for registration?

Andy

I think my registration renewal will be around $120ish
As for the poll - I'd still pay the registration; new sway bar is no good if you can't drive it!

Paying about $42 for two years.

I would spend the $193 on Grey Goose. But that's me.

And the smoked lenses look cool, but I believe in form follows function. If it reduces function in any way, I won't consider it.

Red

Registration renewal here is somewhere in the neighborhood of $35, tax-deductible. The cost of insurance makes sure that I can't gloat about that at ALL

Speaking of Grey Goose, have you tried Cïroc? It's made from grapes instead of potatoes and is surprisingly smooth - it really gives the Goose a run for its money (I actually prefer it!).

Just wanted to chime in...

As of yesterday I officially joined the April club Suspect a 3rd week deliver of:

IB/W MC
White bonnet stripes
CVT
Premium
H/K audio
Auto wipers/mirrors
Sport seats
Black leatherette
Anthracite dash

It couldn't possibly get here soon enough!!!!

I've resisted the urge so far, because I want to wait for the V2, but I think an ICE-Link is also in my future as my ipod would love a new home.

To pass the time, I really want to get an RC Mini (in my color combo of course) and possibly build a model or 2. Any suggestions on where to buy such gear (and I WON'T pay $100 for the RC car as the dealer wants)?

Welcome to the April club Juan.

You are our first official TNG (the next generation) April Clubber. If you want to kill time while waiting for your MINI to arrive, just read this thread from start to finish. All 138 pages of it.

Welcome to the April Club Juan! I bought a 1/12 RC car at a car show for $20, but I did not even take it out of the box yet.

Check car show vendors and toy stores. Anything will be less than the MINI dealer.

Red

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

My MA told me that I should get my production number either tomorrow or Friday, so I'm on the edge of my seat to sign in to the Owner's Lounge and such

I've been looking at toy stores for the RC Mini, but I can't seem to find anything but BRG and Chili Red... I want an IB/W damnit!!!

Back to my journey through the entire April Club thread. I'm on page 50 something now...

It's going to be hard to find that color in an RC. I have a PS/B, but the toy is CR/W.

Check the many 1/18 and 1/43 die cast cars for your color.

Good luck!

Red

JPL,
What does your production number start with?
I ordered mine on 2/9 and have a production number of 660....
Mine's an MCS with:
DarkSilver/Black top
anthracite
Premium
Cold weather
auto dimming mirror
fog lights

Guess the April legacy continues with this new generation...
Geez, how did you old timers make it?
Hope we can benefit from your experience!

Synaptic:

I don't get my production number until tomorrow or Friday according to my MA...

Excellent color choices... the only (well, mostly) reason I wish I'd gone w/ the MCS is the dark silver color. After driving an athracite car for the first time the other day, I think it would look great w/ that.

I'll definitely post my production number when I get it; I can't wait!

Welcome to "The Club" synapticfire.

I have a green brg/w rc, a cr/w rc and a ly rc.

My cr/w rc is now a cr/b with black bonnet stripes rc thanks to paint and electricians tape

Rachel, so how much for insurance? I pay $912 per year.

$912 per YEAR for insurance?

Who's your carrier!?!?!?!?!

Maybe because I'm an unmarried 22 y/o male, but even w/ a squeaky clean driving record my premium is, get this:

$1050 for SIX MONTHS.

That's $2100/year for those of you playing at home. That's from Progressive, and was the best rate I could find.

Any suggestions on how I can get to your stellar rate?

I got my production number today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7081430

It still lists as the dealer-allocated one, but my MA said it should show the right specs in a day or two.

Just knowing that my baby is "On Order" is enough to calm me down for a little while at least.

Is anyone else going to be joining the April club? I'm not sure I have the time necessary to keep "the list" but I might volunteer if noone else does. Any takers?

Right now, with no tickets ever, a lengthy driving history, and all, it's ~$1200 a year. *sigh* That's the CHEAPEST, and it's set to go up, thanks to the insurance companies here. Not sure how aware other people are of the strange state of Massachusetts, but the state actually sets the insurance minimum for the companies - and they ask for a higher minimum rate every year. This is the minimum OF that minimum. Augh! They're even cancelling the safe driver deductions since they weren't making as much money on them.

Juan - WELCOME to the April Club! FANTASTIC that you're here! You haven't even begun the painful part of the journey

Thanks for the warm reception

I'm just thankful I didn't have to wait on a list for months BEFORE even getting my production number like some of our international friends... the prospect of 6-10 weeks is bad enough as-is

WooooooHooooooo!!!

Another first for the April Club (i think....). Has any other CWF*C ever hung in long enough to spawn a second generation????

I will hit the one year anniversary of placing my order in about 9 days and Burnie's "birthday" (March 20) is coming up quick. Welcome all new April clubbers, hope you can benefit from our so-called knowledge.

Students and I have been crazy busy with Valentine's production. We sold over $2900 worth of various goodies--chocolate truffles, chocolate strawberries, brownies, shortbread, etc.--now all we have to do is have it all ready for pickup tomorrow...

Our local MINI club has a "Love-Your-MINI" Sweethearts rally scheduled for Saturday with a fun course from Dripping Springs to Luchenbach...we have a 20% chance for sleet and snow flurries, but nothin' that would faze you Yankees out there...my feeling is it want stop us either since its not likely to "stick!"

As far as the current quiz:

Registration--$58+40 for personalized plates=$98
Insurance (w/ airbag, multicar and homeowner discounts) $1100/yr.

If you're interested in toys...here's the MINI toy thread I started a while back. I've added a few more since then, including a slot car set, but have yet to repaint any to match Burnie's distinctive CR/B and custom stripe looks...maybe someday I'll have more time, but lately its been mostly work, sleep, chores, MOTOR!!!

Cheers y'all!

cheffie

Just ordered an S today that goes into production next week. It will have to be shipped to me in CA from the dealer in Ohio, so it should be arrive sometime in early April. I guess that makes me a member of this here forum.

Anyone want to buy my '02 Cooper?

Ah what the hell.... I'll keep this list

I figure it will give me something to do to validate slacking off at work to check on my baby more often than is rational/sane.

Once I get some coffee in me tomorrow I'll start coming up with something... give me full specs and production numbers if you've got them people who have chimed in!

Happy motoring to last year's graduates... you're an inspiration to us all, or something

Allright, just what we need to get The April Club kickin' again...some new blood!

Ryan...is there some sort of formal ceremony to mark the passing of the Listkeeper responsibility (a la the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace) or should we all just raise a pint in JuanPaco's direction (whatever direction that might be...) and offer cheers to the new KOTL...The KOTL is gone...Long live the KOTL!!

Motor on, me mateys!

Congratulations JuanPaco. You're the chosen one. It's all up to you to keep the torch burning.

Welcome back Chef, Good to hear from you again.

Ryan, is there an 04 configurator available?

All 04 people, It's not too late to change your order to chili red, the fastest color!

Andy
