uhh, here ya go: Wallenius Wilhelmsen <--- the cargo tracking page

Rules for the new KOTL: You must tastefully repost The List to keep it near the bottom of the thread. Every few days if traffic is light, and once a day if traffic is heavy. As more CWFAC '04'ers stroll by and let us know of their order/config, you are required to database all specifications. Statistics and factoids are fun extras, and when WagsFTB is around, percentages are an added bonus. Cheffie will request the continuation of Fun Motoring Activities, and in the long run, I would like to see One Week Update and One Month Updates. To date, I haven't found an '04 Configurator, for the November Club, I was photoshopping the new colors accordingly.

Cheers,
Ryan

Great information Rye.
This is a little premature, I know, but when the time comes, how do you find out which ship your baby's on? I thought I was being overly obsessive until I saw the postings tracking the voyage of the cargo freighters. Guess I'm in good company.

Also, how often do you guys think it's acceptable to get mini test drive fixes from the dealer? It's been almost a week now and the pictures aren't doin' it for me anymore.... I just need one little test drive, just one, and I'll be fine, no really, fine...

With a Mini, I'm not sure there's a 'rational' or 'sane' limit. My coworkers got used to me checking the MiniUSA website every few hours while I was waiting.

JPL,
Cool that you're keeping the list.

Ok, "The List" has officially been started. I'm keeping a little spreadsheet with detailed specifics, so once we get some more orders in we can do some statistics and all that fun, time-wasting stuff

111 (On Order):
JuanPacoLopez - MC, IB/W, #7081430

112 (Scheduled for Production):
SynapticFire - MCS, DS/B, #660....

Unreported:
XAlfa - MCS, ?

I decided to keep Ryan's excellent format from last time around. Since someone mentioned it, here's a bit of personal info:

I'm a sysadmin from Atlanta, GA. Just sort-of finished school (actually I started going part time for my last 2 semesters because work offered me too much moeny to turn down). And, err, I'm 22? I think that's anything that's relevant

So, I need a full production number from SynapticFire and just more info in general on XAlfa's new toy.

JPL,
Production number is 6608586.

As far as the personals, I'm the build guy for a software company. And wishing I were still 22  That's why I didn't post the whole thing earlier.

Excellent!

Now all we need are some specs + numbers from XAlfa and we're set

Hopefully we'll get some activity once more people get orders for April delivery in?

Woohoo!!!!

I'm officialy at 112 (scheduled for production) as of this afternoon!!!

I don't have a confirmed date yet, but I spoke with a woman on the CS line and she said it was tentatively scheduled for week 11, which would mean it will be finished around 3/19 give or take.

Just so everyone knows, there is now an automated status checker at AskMINI. Once it picks up, just say "production status" and the little automated system will ask for your production number etc. VERY slick (and up-to-date compared w/ miniusa, which still shows "on order&quot.

Just called my dealer to try to add Xenon headlights. Bad news is he couldn't, good news is he couldn't because the car is already in production (status 150)!
YeeHaw!

Wow synapticfire!!!!

I wonder how it got in so early?

Hehe, I'm hoping now that since mine is unconfirmed it might be in production soon?

I'll update you on the list, this is fantastic news. Looks like you'll graduate as a March clubber after all?

They must have just changed an existing order they had when I ordered mine, because this seems way too fast. I admit I'm a little skeptical. But I'd have no problems moving to the CWFMC

Sorry - I think I owe you some details on my car. Pretty sure I'm at 112 - supposedly going into production next week. I know I got some kind of production number from the dealer but can't find it right now.

Here's my (lean and stealthy) spec:
S, DS/DS, Leatherette, Anthracite, S-lites, Sunroof, F/R Fogs and... completely agonizing over whether to add the JCW kit

Congrats to all you TNGs...once you begin production the torture really begins...here are some things you can do to help pass the time...

The wait is such painful pleasure, but it WILL be worth it!
Wishing you all a speedy build and smooth seas...April's only 6 weeks away!!!!

Thanks chef. I'd forgotten about the Italian Job, I think I even have the dvd on the shelf, I'll have to break it out. I've been working on converting my friends to mini lovers for about a 2 weeks now. Just found out about the askmini number from Ryephile and have called it three times in the past 2 days. And of course the wall paper on my computer shows the sweet litle MCS DS/W from the mini site

Hey, don't knock the miatas! SO and I are planning on getting one as a supplementary track car. He can't have my Mini, as much as he keeps trying to steal it. The miata is a great intro to rear-wheel car dynamics, and it handles well too!

    rfath,
Yeah, I'm really gone miss my little green convertable. Ironically, I'm trading up for a mini because the miata is just too small
    Needed room for the dogs.
And all my previous cars have been rear-wheel drive, so this will be an interesting change.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised Synaptic...

The MINI (to me) is the BEST handling front-wheel drive car I've ever driven. Equal length drive shafts mean no torque steer, and if you have the CVT (or extreme skill w/ the 5/6 speeds) you can actually throttle steer and engine brake the MC and MCS.

Those are characteristics normally not found in a FWD car; one of the first things that attracted me to the MC in fact

Honestly, the Mini tries its hardest to make you think that it's rear-wheel drive. When push comes to PUSH, it does, as any front-wheel drive car does, but it's caught a few people off-guard in its demeanor, especially on offramps and onramps and rotaries, and... and..

Yeah, the miata would be a third car for us, so it's not like we need a whole lot of space (the horses need their own rig and the ferrets can fit in a miata ). Eventually we want to get into the spec scene and see what it's like. Depending on how much time I have I might go for my comp license next summer after putting in more time at the hpdes this summer.

    God I can't freakin' wait!!!!
    Okay, deep breath...
rfath, I thought about hitting a track day with the miata, but SCCA rules require a roll bar, and I didn't want to modify my miata, as I always sort of new I'd be getting rid of it. (Only 15K on the odo)
This of course adds to the excitment, since I plan on keeping the Mini for a LONG time, and thus will have no problems running up the miles

<grin> My car's leased, but I'm planning on buying it at the end anyway, so I've got no issues with modding it (custom stripes, pulley, custom wheels, and the real fun starts this spring!).

It's still no problem running up the miles, but I'd SWEAR most of them I didn't actually put on myself *sigh*

It's relatively hard to break the back end loose in the Mini, especially in stock form. Once you start modding the suspension and engine, the dynamics really start to change on the car when you're driving aggressively. I know, duh.

With the winter tires on the car (15" skinnies), we've had a HARD time getting the back end around, even in heavy snow cover. It usually took some playing with the handbrake to have any fun, but the second you let off, the car just re-composed itself and went on its cheeky way.

My neighbor (shared parking lot and he parks beside me) just came home with a brand new H2. I'm speechless. Maybe I'll get some pictures of poor Scrat next to it.

Figured I'd give a bump to our poor April Club. There HAVE to be some new members soon

Anyhow, all that's really changed is the SynapticFire 150 status upgrade (congrats again; here's to a few amped up Oxford workers really kicking *** this weekend

    bumpity bump bump bump...

Still no action on getting a confirmed production date for my (as yet unnamed) MINI. Oh well, at least it's "scheduled".

Has anyone else had similar experience as SynapticFire (i.e. you languish for a few days in scheduled w/ no confirmed date and then jump straight to "In Production&quot?

Great that it's going so soon XAlfa!!!

My MA seems to think that mine should start production "any day now" despite not having a confirmed date yet. She was just going by what other customers who ordered around the same time are reporting, but it seems to be fairly consistent.

Anyhow, to pass the time... Any chance we could get an (almost) 1 year update from some of you old fart '03 members? I'd be curious to know how things have gone, and if you could do it over what you would change/add?
