But from car completion to getting into your hands can be tricky. If your lucky you car will be on its way on a ship the same day. If its not like Gabe from motoringfile it will sit on the peir for a few weeks. Then the trip accross the pond is about 9 days. From there its abotu a day @ the VDC and then its up to the driver of the truck to get it to you.
Giddy Giddy
Keeping finger crossed and Jumping around like a kid who has to pee!!!!!!!!
Must take my mind off.
Somehow
But the "Force" is too strong
Ever see that commercial with the guy with the VW Bug on his head that keeps getting bigger and bigger. Mini on the brain
Pretty soon I wont be able to get out of bed
This mini is getting heavy
Calm yourself young Skywalker for you have much to learn.
My car is at the dealer and is awaiting parts to come in. How do you think I feel? I have pictures of my new car and have seen and touched it. But know I can't have it yet.
I was planning on getting my car Wed but now the wheels will take longer to get here so it looks more like thurs or Fri.
I have parts of my own sitting @ home awaiting install as well. Like a nice Euro shelf and M7 goodies.

Finally! MY MCS is built and waiting for a shipping carrier (according to ASK MINI)!
The MINI Owners Lounge is pitifully behind though. ASK MINI has been giving me updates for the last 4 days while the website says the car is still "scheduled for production".

My Baby got to the port today and it is on the JINGU MARU, which departs the 27th and gets to SC on the 9th.
So it will sit there for a week or so before it starts the journey. I am leaving for a trip on June 16th. Hopefully I can get it by then and be able to go thru the break in period before the trip. Break in period shouldnt be all highway miles.

I, too, am scheduled to be rolled onto the Boheme. I've been waiting at the port since 13/05/2005 at 2am. I'm in the top 50, when sorted by date/time. Let's hope I get on. I'm thinking about starting a Boheme thread (assuming I do get on).
I have been at the terminal since 5/14.
Right now half the VINs are loaded on ship and half are still received at terminal.
I have a feeling that they just have not updated all yet.
Why would they book 200 and only ship half of em?
Unless they are like the airlines.

How about posting some solid website URLs and instructions for those of us who don't know where to go or what to do to track VINs/Ships for orders to the west coast. I've been all over the archives on this site and others and found a bunch of crap instructions and broken links. Thanks!

Wow, I'm almost really upset
I checked 8 VINs loaded onto the Boheme and all 8 arrived at the port May 16-18. I'VE BEEN AT THE PORT SINCE THE 13TH.
It appears that I will not be sailing on the Boheme
!
FYI: 109 VINs have been "Loaded on Vessel". 91 VINs are still sitting at the port. Of those 91, 48 have been there since 14/05/2005.
"Received at the Terminal" since 11/05/2005:
This morning there was 1 , now there are 0 (1 loaded)
"Received at the Terminal" since 12/05/2005:
This morning there were 42 , now there are 3 (39 loaded)
"Received at the Terminal" since 13/05/2005:
This morning there were 35 , now there are 35 (0 loaded)
"Received at the Terminal" since 14/05/2005:
This morning there were 10 , now there are 10 (0 loaded)
"Received at the Terminal" since 15/05/2005:
This morning there were 2 , now there is 1 (1 loaded)
"Received at the Terminal" since 16/05/2005:
This morning there were 44 , now there are 7 (37 loaded)
"Received at the Terminal" since 17/05/2005:
This morning there were 35 , now there are 4 (31 loaded)

1+39+0+0+1+37+31+0=109, which is how many were "Loaded on Vessel".
It is strange they loaded ~all that arrived 12/05, then they skipped all that arrived 13-14, then loaded a bunch that arrived 16-17.
This is stange. Anyone want to take a guess why? Different days get loaded different sections of the port maybe?

FYI, they do seem to work like the airlines. I was originally booked on the Takasago, which left on the 13th, but got bumped (along with 100 or so other VINs).
Wow, all that wasted analysis. It seems they loaded me! What a change of attitude. Notice I previously said I'm almost really upset (I reserved my right to be wrong)
It appears that as of RIGHT NOW 173 VINs made it.

Is there anyway that a Mini could be bumped up to a ship leaving earlier?
At the rate mine is going it will be ready to pick up right before I go to Chicago to race my BMX bike. There is no way I am going to be able to focus knowing that my car is at the dealer waiting for me to get home. GRRR!
Hopefully I will get it a day or 2 before I have to leave.

Maybe the cars that skipped yours are loaded on really slow ship and your MINI will be on a fast ship, beating them to the US anyway.
Look this morning and BAM
My babay has moved up to leave on the Morning Noble with a port arrival date for june 1st. ( the last ship I was on would it would of been june 9th)
Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One step closer to driving on the twisty roads in NC, and a step closer to me sleeping at night.
