I've moved on to "scheduled for production" and I have a VIN Number...

Quick question: It seems like some people know exactly when their Mini is born...should I know that at this point? All the OL says is "Scheduled for Production"...no dates or anything... Will that stuff fill in over time? or is there another way to keep track?

I got my completion date from my MA. When I called ASK MINI they had the same date. Since you have your VIN # now you can call and get updates, They seem to be more 'up to date' then the site.

 

order my car 2 weeks ago with H/K still dont have a production date yet:( my MA told me 6 to 8 weeks for delivery when i order my car.

 

Did find out the exact build date? I haven't been able to get an exact date. The recorded voice on ASK MINI tells me this: "Your vehicle is in production. The estimated completion date is May 14, 2005."

That isn't the same as them telling me that my vehicle is going to be built on May 14. The reason why I question this is because a few weeks ago, before I had any info from my MA, ASK MINI, or the MINI Owner's Lounge (all these sources indicated "On order") I had an email conversation with a MINIUSA representative about an unrelated issue. Anyway, without asking, I was told that my MINI would be built the week of May 8 through May 14.
So I find it funny how the recorded voice also says "estimated...May 14..."

Like Stevehoff asked a few posts back, is there a way to find out the EXACT build date?

 

Ok.. I finally decided to speak to a rep at ASKMINI, and they told me my car was sheduled to begin construction week #20.. that's May 16th!

The sad news is that I had to pay off an american express bill (they increased the rate) - and it had to come out of my MINI fund! I really wanted a low payment. I'm hoping I don't freak out last minute and let the car go. I've waited so long! (A year before the actual ordering, too)

Does anyone else think they're extending themselves financially because they want the car so much?

Go to: https://ol.miniusa.com/

Sign in and then "track your mini".

"Skip intro" on the flash animation.

Once you are in "Mini order tracking" click on "review order detail".

That's where you'll find your VIN!

 

You'll get your "exact build date" (or "birthday") when the car is finished. Your car is born naturally, rather than by scheduled C-section, so you won't have that exact date until it's done.

Until it happens, the doctor (er, I mean, ASK MINI) keeps telling you when s/he expects it to happen. When it happens, you'll know.

I'm borderline. I've been wanting a MINI since before they came out in the US. I bought a house a year and a half ago and that further delayed things. I'm at a point now where I can do it...but things will be tight for a little while! The important thing is that I'm comfortable with the numbers. If I wasn't, I wouldn't go through with the purchase. Worst case, I'd have to sell it. (not gonna go there though!) Now, only if I had rich parents like some of the kids that post around here. :smile:

I'd say I'm in the June club... ASK MINI told me I might have her by June 1st with any luck... My build completion date is 13 MAY (this Friday!) so hopefully I'll be on a ship soon after completion.

I ordered an H/K system, too, and was delayed a couple of days, according to my MA, but then was put right back into the original build time frame. My build began on May 4th according to ASK MINI.

My VIN doesn't show up on W&W's web site so I may be shipping on a K-Line transport.

Extending financial? Kinda, our Audi lease doesn't go back for 2 months, so we will have 4 cars, 3 car payments for 2 drivers.

I was able to use my VIN to check with the automated ASK MINI system. My baby is expected to complete it's trip down the birth canal on May 17th! Just a week after my own birthday.

I ordered on 4-28-05. HB MCS I can't wait. I got the news late last week of a estimated completion date for May 18th. Any idea on how long until I grip my fingers on my babies wheel? (no H/K stereo) I live in NC so im not too far form Charleston. Can you say obsessed.
