I have an EXCELLENT Camel GB Driving Music CD. Inspired by my Camel with hits from KROQ (Los Angeles Radio Station). Includes the following bands:

Interpol
The Killers
Modest Mouse
Franz Ferdinand
Morissey

EVERYONE I have given this CD to absolutely love it.

22 awesome tracks. This is one of those "No need to press skip" compilations.

A true masterpiece.

If interested PM me where to mail it to. FOC.

The Clash, any track from "Give em enough rope" will do to race my motor.

"Ziggy Stardust" - Bowie, perfect for cruising Hollywood.

"Superfly" - Curtis Mayfield, don't get much better than his waa-waa.

And when I really want to thump it wild I put on The Pouges and let Shan McGowin take me away with a drunkin reel.

My choices..

Hmmm,

Interesting selections, all. Except the "Top Gun" soundtrack.

Ugghh..
Double Ugghhh..

Anyhoo, for the launch, I highly recommend

"Uncontrollable Urge" - Devo

If your MINI still has the dreaded "Yo-Yo Effect", then I recommend..

"Jerkin' Back and Forth" - Devo

"Surrender" and "Dream Police" - Cheap Trick

"Veterans of the Psychic Wars" - Blue Oyster Cult , from soundtrack to
"Heavy Metal"

Ooohh, yeah, that's the ticket. Cheap Trick's "Reach Out And Take It", from the same soundtrack, almost beats out "Dream Police" in my book.

Smiths, huh? Hokay, gimme "Rusholme Ruffians", and "How Soon Is Now?"

For Queen, "Fat-Bottom Girls", or even their tune from "Highlander", "Princes Of The Universe", rock hard.

Edge, you should check out the original track listing for the PlayStation game "Wipeout" -- my first encounter with The Chemical Brothers. "Hey, these guys have an album? Cool!"

On that note, I also vote for the album "Gilt" by "Machines Of Loving Grace". Used it to replace the crap-@$$ techno in RidgeRacer on the PlayStation. Pause at the christmas tree (starting line), open the player, stick in some real audio...oh yes.

Finally, I vote for Puffy, "Your Love Is A Drug", from the album "PRMX Turbo" -- PRMX = Puffy Re-Mix Project. Good Stuff.

Mebbe even the theme from "Mazinger Z", or a few riffs off of my Godzilla soundtrack collection, every critter's theme. Mecha-Godzilla had those sweet jungle drums going.

Cheers,
Matthew Z.

P.S. "Mach 5" and "Dune Buggy" by PUSA (Presidents of the United States of America) are choice as well. You might remember a little tune, "Lump"?
"Peaches"? No? Oh well.

I go between for XM 81 - BPM (Beat Per Minute) and XM 8 - 80's. Just recently a classic rock station in Los Angeles, Arrow 93.1 changed its format and name to Jack FM which I like. A really nice mix of tunes that make the drive even more enjoyable.

Since my convertible is on its way, it's time to find some nice driving with the top down music ... Since I'm a Jimmy Buffett fan, his song 'Rag Top Day' seems like it'll work for me well!

"Maybelline, why can't you be true?" - Chuck Berry anyone?

A couple on the more obscure side:

Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers - "Roadrunner"
King Crimson - "Vroom Vroom"

Less obscure:

Neil Young - "Rockin' in the Freeworld" & "Sedan Delivery"
Nirvana - "Territorial Pissings"
Yes - "Roundabout"
David Bowie - "Hallo Spaceboy"
Dire Straits - "Telegraph Road"
Foo Fighters - "Monkey Wrench"
Tracy Chapman - "Fast Car"

Many more floating around in my old head, but I need rest.

Nine Inch Nails - Eraser (denial revisited)

There is no way that you can listen to that song and not speed. It's just not possible.

Hmm.... Deftones - Be Quiet and Drive is appropriate.... any Rage Against the Machine...For the calmer type, any Jack Johnson is great.... His new album is awesome.......

OH, and "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" is a much better Queens of the Stone Age song to drive to

All I know is that I have 10+ gigs of music on the I-pod, and I enjoy as much of it as I can while im driving.

And now for something completely different:

Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys - Orange Blossom Special (I defy anyone to stay under the speed limit while playing this instrumental)
