Engine warning light came on

I only have 800 miles on my car but the engine warning light came on and stayed on over 100 miles and then went off. Has anyone had this happen? Why would it come on and then go off? The manual says when on it means the emissions are deteriorating. Ski

If it came on after you filled up, it's a improperly tightened gas cap. Happened to me and after turning the car off and on a few times it reset and went away.
